It might be a little early but I have started this thread now. I have listed players that fought five-or-more times last season with some slight exceptions. I chose to list players that have signed rookie-contracts with NHL teams since you don't know how they'll cope with turning pro. Most of them will never play in the ECHL.
Some NHL teams has no ECHL affiliation. Buffalo, Chicago, Minnesota.
Phoenix Coyotes are sending their prospects to Arizona,CHL and Detroit (at least last year) works with IHL teams.

Im looking forward to seeing where Dan Sullivan ends up this year since the Ice Pilots folded. Part of me wants to see him stay in the southeast but part of me'd like to see him move on and get a chance to fight in a another division.

Checkers list

CHARLOTTE CHECKERS

Jared Nightingale QO
Matt Waddell QO
Jordan Owens AHL
Justin Soryal NHL

As stated, we have qualifying offers out to Jared Nightingale and Matt Waddell, so we will see August 1 if they bite. Jared will most likely get called up at some point (like last season) and Matt isn't an enforcer he barely qualifies as a tough guy at all.

I said Jordan Owens wouldn't be back last year, and he wont be back this coming season either. The Wolfpack signed with much fanfare: http://www.hartfordwolfpack.com/crawford_20080711.php

Haven't hear a whisper about Justin Soryal (he's OHL not NHL please correct that), with 8 majors last year he would be a welcome addition, but it looks like his current focus is on the skill side of his game. Last season, Soryal established career-highs in games played (60), goals (26), assists (27), and points (53).

In short we will lack any of the toughness we were once known for, as coach attempts to transition us into a skill team (while the skill teams pile on toughness).

The NHL after Soryal means he is signed to a NHL-team. Wether Owens stays on the WolfPack is depending on how many prospects the Rangers send down and of what quality

oops

Understood, after catching up on my Wolfpack news, I doubt Soryal will be sent down. The Pack let Lessard and Fritz slip away, so everyone assumes Soryal is their guy until someone gets sent down or they pickup a real HW.

You might as well take Hendrikx off the list for Elmira he was Columbus property and I don't think we are affiliated with them this year and Johnson is signed with Binghamton in the A.

Just for curiosity's sake, where did you see that Chaz Johnson has signed officially with the Sens?

You can also add David Walker to Ontario, who signed today. He had 8 fights in the CHL last year, 13 in the ECHL the year before, and 8 in the ECHL the year before.

i also doubt that beleskey will be in bakersfield and machacek in gwinnett. both are slated to make their ahl teams. esp machacek due to depth issues in chicago. and iowa will need scoring and beleskey will fill that role.

Dan Sullivan signed with the Gwinnett Gladiators. He'll take a load off Stoetz which will enable him to play more. Gonna be good.

Go Sully
