DULUTH, Ga. - The Gwinnett Gladiators announced that they have signed forwards Dirk Southern and Lou Dickenson.

The Gladiators are the ECHL affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers of the National Hockey League and the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League.

Selected in the seventh round (218th overall) by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, the 24-year-old Southern had 31 points (10g-21a) and 21 penalty minutes in 61 regular season games for Augusta as a rookie in 2006-07.

Dickenson has played overseas the last two seasons and in 2006-07 he had 23 points (12g-11a) in 22 games for Edinburgh in the British Elite League while also playing in the Swedish First League where he had two assists in seven games for Bofors.
