Garet Hunt Article
Quote:
STOCKTON - Garet Hunt has spent most of his professional hockey career fighting for his teammates on the Stockton Thunder. Now, it's his responsibility to lead the team.
The team's longtime enforcer is the new team captain, and he takes his leadership position as seriously as trying to score goals or settling issues with his fists for the Thunder, which plays the Las Vegas Wranglers at 7 p.m. today and Saturday at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
The 5-foot-8 forward has played a team-record 246 games. Stockton coach Matt Thomas said Hunt was the natural choice to wear the "C" on his jersey, with Ryan Constant and Harrison Reed as the alternate captains.
"He's a perfect leader for this group. He has tremendous knowledge of the game and of what I expect out of players," Thomas said. "He was an alternate last year and has really grown into a leader."
