Condors Sign Liam Huculak
CONDORSTOWN, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Matt O'Dette announced today that the team has signed F Liam Huculak (HOOCH-uh-lack). He is expected in the lineup on Friday when the Condors host the Alaska Aces and their three NHL players.

Huculak, 29, becomes the second veteran on the Condors roster, along with D Trevor Hendrikx, having played in 276 games in the ECHL and Central Hockey League (CHL) over the past six seasons. In 2008-09, Huculak accumulated five goals, six assists, and 168 penalty minutes in 51 games with Bakersfield, leading the team in PIMs that season.

The 6'5", 220 lbs. native of Lethbridge, Alberta began the 2012-13 season in Europe, playing under former Condors Head Coach Marty Raymond for Medvescak Zagreb in the Austrian league. In nine games, he recorded 51 penalty minutes.

Last year, Huculak played 68 games with the Colorado Eagles recording five goals and 15 assists for 20 points to go along with 130 penalty minutes.

Condors finally realized they were sorely lacking for toughness outside of Tyson Gimblett until the recent signings of Hendrikx and Huculak.

I jumped for joy when I read it on their FaceBook. I should be heading to the Wheeling-Bakersfield game in January.

I don't know. I follow Bakersfield more than Wheeling, to be honest.
