CONDORSTOWN, Calif. – The
Bakersfield Condors and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Matt O’Dette announced today that the team has received F Francis Verreault and D Kyle Haines from the
Greenville Road Warriors in exchange for C Levi Nelson.
Verreault was fourth on the Road Warriors in scoring at the time of the trade, potting seven goals with 14 assists for 21 points in 32 games played as a rookie. Last season, he made his professional debut with the
Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), playing in six games and recording one assist at the end of the 2011-12 season.
Prior to his professional career, the Roberval, Quebec native played four seasons for McGill University in Canada and with the
Chicoutimi Saguenéens of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). With McGill, he led the team in scoring with 156 points (87g, 69a) in just 93 games played. In Chicoutimi, the 25-year old had 89 goals and 100 assists for 189 points in 301 games.
Haines, 25, is a rookie who tallied four goals and four assists foreight points in 18 games with Greenville. The 6’0″, 195 lbs. Weyburn, Saskatchewan native also fashioned a plus-6 (+6) rating on the blue line. He played two games as the end of the 2011-12 season with the
Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL after a four-year career at Lake Superior State University. One of the Lakers top d-men, Haines had 42 points (13g-29a) in 134 college games.
Nelson heads to Greenville with 24 points (10g-24a) in 31 games played with Bakersfield.
