Bulls Sign Ryane Clowe

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The San Francisco Bulls Professional Hockey Team, proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, announced today left wing Ryane Clowe has been signed and will join the team on Thursday, November 8 for practice. Clowe has spent the last six full seasons playing as a member of the San Jose Sharks.

“We’re excited to have a player of Ryane’s caliber join the team,” said Bulls President/Head Coach Pat Curcio. “We look forward to having him around the locker room, as he gets back into game shape. The rest of the players on the team will have a chance to learn from his work ethic.”

Clowe, 30, brings nine years of professional experience, including 395 NHL games with the Sharks, to the Bulls roster. In his NHL career, Clowe has amassed 260 points (101 goals, 159 assists) and 488 penalty minutes. In each of the past four seasons, Clowe has totaled at least 50 points. He recorded a career-high 24 goals and 62 points in 2010-11. That season he ranked fourth on the team in goals and fifth in points. The Mount Pearl, Newfoundland, native recorded 45 points (17 goals, 28 assists) in 76 games with the Sharks in 2011-12.

A sixth-round draft pick (175th overall) by San Jose in 2001, Clowe, over the past two seasons, has served as one of the Sharks’ alternate captains. Clowe has helped lead the Sharks to the Stanley Cup playoffs in all seven of his seasons with the team. He was instrumental in leading the team to back-to-back Western Conference finals in 2009-10 and 2010-11. He has totaled 45 points (18 goals, 27 assists) in 68 playoff games with the Sharks. Prior to his NHL career, Clowe recorded 136 points (51 goals, 85 assists) in 181 games with the Cleveland Barons of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Looks like this is practice only, according to the PR.

no...that's gonna be his 1st practice with the team. if he wasn't gonna play, there would be no reason to sign a contract

I had read about a week ago that he was going to sign/had signed with the Bulls "for practice only", but wouldn't actually be playing.

I guess they changed their mind.

Must have changed their minds after being embarrassed by the Eagles two nights in a row.
