While MacIntyre was disappointing, and deserves a fair share of the blame, I think there were other factors that weren't his fault alone that led to his dismal season. So I can't really vote for him.
For me, it's Matt Carkner. He really seemed to have the opportunity to make a real statement as an elite heavyweight this year, and he just didn't take advantage of that chance. Very disappointing. I was also hugely let down by Kyle Clifford though, even though he's still just a kid. He looked so promising and entertaining based on his rookie year, and he really didn't follow that up with much of anything positive during his second season.

Matt Carkner
Last year's Fighter of the Year and People's Choice didn't want anything to do with fighting this year. He turned tree-hugger this season after all those right hands from Orr, not to mention the knee surgery. He was the biggest letdown. Steve MacIntyre barely played, while Carkner was more or less an everyday player. Huge difference.

Very let down he didn't play or fight this season. There was a few good fights I wanted to see,,,, but nothing. Hard to fight from the press box.

The overall season as a let down. First year in a long time where the HW division was non existant for the most part. MW's did an alright job holding down the fort. The ejections have gone totally out of whack this year. You talk in the 3rd you were ejected. Horse**** season. Horse**** league. Horse**** sponsors.

I can't get on MacIntyre here it isn't his fault he is stuck in the era he is no one wants to fight him. My choice here is Clifford he hasn't been the same since Reaves dinged him

With most of the fighters on the list, their decline of fights was a result of the goon becoming extinct in the NHL. You can't really fault guys like MacIntyre because they have no one to fight anymore. With the passing of Boogaard and Belak (RIP), and many enforcers being sent to the minors (the likes of Orr, Gillies, Godard, etc) there are no dance partners for the major heavyweights. Therefore I don't feel that MacIntyre, Shelley, Bissonnette were letdowns.
As for Clifford, his totals did decrease and he was not quite as feisty as he was in his rookie year. That being said, I don't feel he was a letdown. A sophmore middleweight who takes on guys like Jay Rosehill, Tim Jackman, and Ryane Clowe deserves credit. My vote goes for Matt Carkner. Carkner battles injuries this year, and when he returned he struggled against Milan Lucic in a fight. Afterwards he ended up fighting the likes of Mark Stuart and Adam Hall. That is a huge dropoff compared to his fight card in previous seasons. Carkner's only shining moment was taking out Brian Boyle in the playoffs

Jody Shelley is expect to not fight nearly as much. He took on some tuough guys and did alright. He is an old warrior. I was not let down due to expected.
Westgarth has showed us he is kind of a bum and got bench a lot so I was not surprised either. He reminds me of a slightly better Zack Stortini. A little more skill and size as a fighter. Matt Carkner disappointed me due to his rookie season racking up a ton of fights and being rookie of the year. Then the next year prettym uch was the champ, him of Boogaard. He was hurt though so I thought about him but not as much. He will fight on the Islanders more. The Sens had a great season last year and had Neil and Konpka which made that load smaller. Biz was a disappointment due to him looking like he did not need to fight anymore to stay in the league. He talked about it on twitter nad just seemed annoying. Later in the year he seemed to start fighting more and looked okay. Mac having No NHL fights is whatever. You can blame his coaches, him a little, but mainly the guys against him haha. So I think people were just sad. His fights down in the A were bad ass! total domination! I voted for Kyle Clifford because his rookie season was great but he played like sh!t last season and fought more scared. I think the pounds he took to his chin really made him aware of not opening up. Its a shame, i was disappointed but I think he will still be good.

I think Clifford still had more fights than any of those guys last year, but damn, his fighting ability seemed to be nonexistent. And this concussion that the cock stain Bitz gave him with the hit from hit from behind probably just made things that much worse.
