Colton Orr definitely deserves the Probert award. He got dropped hard by Carkner, then came back and dropped him several times. If that doesn't say Bob Probert, I don't know what does.

Hey Merlin, when did Godard have a KO loss or decisive loss to Orr this year? Never happened.

There is no clear champ. No one stood out as "The Guy" this year but I'll have to give my vote to Orr. I would love to say McGrattan but he lost to Orr and Boogaard decisively. Can't give it to him. And sorry people but I can't give the "Fighter of the Year" award to a guy with 9 fights. You got to put in a little more work. Orr was active all year and took his beatings and clearly handed them out. For me, that makes him Fighter of the year.

I was wondering that too. In their only fight this year, it was at very least a draw if not a win for Godard.

I had to go with Orr. He did his job ALL year. He took beatings , gave beatings and never culled any. Orr was active, he was mean and he was the "Fighter of the Year" in my opinion.

By far Colton Orr. His fight card is stacked with a lot of elite fighters. And he risked his fight record by fighting so much. Orr was the ultimate enforcer last year.

Godard had 8 fights this year, and his fight with Orr was a pretty clear tie in my eyes. You can't say Godard was champ, he had less fights than everyone else here, and a worse record than Boogey. Orr is the champ this year.

Who said Godard was champ?

Orr, he is good and plays enough games to rack up the PIMs.
There might be better ones but they don't get chance to play so Colton it is

Got to go with Boogaard. Always a beast. I wish I could vote for Orr as I like Orr better but he became very Riley Cote like in a Leafs jersey. As wild and fun to watch as ever but he lost or drew more fights than he won. I counted no more than 10 wins in 23 fights. He got knocked out and down too often. He fought averagely against guys he arguably should've beaten (Parros, Thornton, etc). Brashear still had his number and dominated him. He was inconsistant all season long but as entertaining as hell. And yes Merlin the others are right, he didn't beat Eric Godard this season. I'd say he actually lost but I can live with a draw. In fact since Godard buckled Orr's legs on Jan 28 2009 his chin hasn't looked the same... So for me it's Boogaard who deserves the vote. But I expect next year Godard will be back on top

Orr should get the nod

You look at the Leafs this season, and the most consistant player (for what his role was, i.e. Kessel scoring, Kaberle passing, etc.) on the team was Orr. Never complained about ice-time, did not ask for a trade (insert: Jamaal Mayers, Garnett Exelby), only making 1 million a year for being one of the best at what he does, and was one of the rare leaders on the squad.

The best fighter in the league. No questions asked.

So then why does Orr have to decisively beat him to be champ?

Based on quality and quantity of fights, Orr gets my vote.

If either of the other candidates would have been more active, against quality opponents, they would have made the choice harder.
