Gotta give it to Rick Rypien here. Janssen is just a show off.

Rypien if you wanna see tons of quick punches... Orr if you like the anticipation of seeing someone get KTFO

Tough choice between Rypien and Orr. Both give me a case of the chills when they're squaring off and about to spar.
The deciding factor for me was the possibility of damage being done in the fight. When Rypien fights, I'm expecting great technique and rapid-fire punches. But, when Orr fights, not only is there potential for an exciting fight, there's also potential for blood and someone hitting the deck.

Rypien has an open fighting style. Orr has an open fighting style AND massive power.

Imagine if Ripper was 6.3 - 240, easy pick here lads.
Rick is by far the most entertaining fighter in the NHL despite his small stature

I can't believe there's no mention of Rypper taking on Vlabik, he gave up like 5 inches and 60lbs.

I want to go with Orr here, but Rypien deserves this award this year.

For shear excitement and desire, you have to go with Rypien. Not to take anything away from Orr, but Bam Bam would be right behind Rypien.

I know, some people consider him the most boring fighter in the world. But some people love the marathon bouts and the technical counter-punching, stamina, and technique that Cam brings to the table. Some of his fights are rated among the highest of the season.

To be honest, I'm in the latter camp: I'd prefer watching Cam Janssen to most guys in the NHL fight. But I know a bunch of people feel differently.

I dont think the result of a fight is relevant to how exiting it was.

Ripper...

Alot of great arguments and support for all fighters on the list. Definitely like Orr and his style, but Rypien seemed to have some great technical fights this year, against a number of bigger guys. Although only a MW, Rick is obviously a technical fighter who knows where to get in quality punches, for a smaller guy. Yes, Orr had some great KO's and TKO's this season, but with his stature and toughness, as well as his boxing background, Rick put on a damn good fight, with most being against guys bigger than he-plus at the right moments. Rarely were his fights staged (off the draw).

I went with Orr last season, but have to give Ripper his due credit this year. Pretty sure I am going to get some sh1t for this one, but that is what this great site is about. With ALL the great fight fans here, I hope some agree that Rypien is an exciting fighter/player who deserves some cradit. Cam seemed to have the same fight just about every time, with his pre fight antics and waiving off of the refs, to his bull dog style of fighting, just didn't impress me. Liked the PL3 fight and maybe a couple others, but to call him the most exciting/best fighter of the season, not in my book. Ripper...tough call, but gotta go with the kid. Good boxer!

Thanks guys (Vodka Fish, and staff) for the site and keep up the great work!
