I personally can't stand Janssen's style. Sometimes, I wish they would break up his fights when he is just not engaging the fight. If you don't want to fight, don't drop the gloves. And finally, when his opponent is finally tired of trying to have a fight to no avail, he wants to fight and shakes his head at the refs to not come in. That's kind of puss move IMO. That's cool if you are fighting the whole time and trading punches and your opponent runs out of energy and you still want to fight. But, to just turn away the whole time and not engage and wait for your opponent to get tired and then start to fight, is pretty cheap and lame. Fight or break it up. I like the Rypien-Janssen fight because Rypien doesn't give him the chance to do that.

Janssen-Leblond is just two guys with similar styles throwing a punch every 5-10 seconds not landing much and not exerting any energy. That's why it went so long and there's not much danger of getting hit flush with a punch. Boring.

I'd say Koci-Orr was the fight of the year, Janssen-Leblond is highly overrated...

McGrattan vs Big mac. I love when two heavyweights have a good fight.

Big Mac vs. McGrattan.

Janssen vs. Leblond was certainly legendary in length, but other than that, it was just a decent fight.

I agree with this... lots of huffing and puffing is really not my idea of foty... went with prust/rypien.

Jansenn vs JPL was boooooooring. Just because a fight is long doesn't make it good. Take the Probert vs. McSorely bout. Man, that was a frickin' snoozer, yet people raved about it. My vote goes for Rypien. Excitement over fight length gets my nod.

How sad. If this were, say, 1985, none of those fights would have made the Top 50 list.

I picked the best of the worst: Koci/McGrattan.

I sure do miss Dave Brown.

I went with McIntyre/McGratten. Like so many others have said, the Janssen/PL3 fight was, to me, pretty boring. In fact I rated viturally every other fight (in the list) higher. And I actually like both of them.

I watched them all, I'm giving my vote for the Jansenn vs Leblond. That's a long damn time to throw and take punches. But on a side note I would have like to see the Jansenn vs Rypien keep going, i don't think they were done.

Fight of the Year

After examining the candidates I think The Janssen- Rypien fight was the best.Once shown at a slower speed RR gians a lot of respect for his skill and speed.

McGratton - MacIntyre. There's something about true heavyweights fighting that appeals to me--guys that can really hurt each other--over the Janssen's "throw as many as I can, don't care where it goes" style. Watching Janssen-Rypien made me think about all the bruises on their shoulder pads.

I can't wait till Janssen goes against DJ King when the Caps play the Blues. They've both mentioned it.

Joke

WTF are these two monkeys doing playing pro. These staged fights are a f$#king joke. Guys like Probert, Ferguson and even Domi could get ya 15-30 goals a year and play the game, and fight like nobody's business. Let these retards go UFC, they got no business playing this great game....pathetic goofs.
