Godard and Belak were the top this year for sure.I think they owe each other a fight to see who wins this...

Its really close between Godard and Belak but my choice is/was Belak. He did really well against the giant Boogaard and knocked down one of the best of this decade, Donald Brashear. He also had some notable wins over guys like Hordichuk or against the very dangerous Rupp.

Belak takes this one easy for me. He went from being a Top 5 fighter to barely noted and made a huge rise again back to the Top 5.

Its a shame Godard and Belak didn't fight each other this season.

Why can't we pick Chara.

Chara is probably the most feared fighter- mostly by virtue of size/reach, mean streak, and wrestling pedigre. If you had to pick one off the list, Goddard is the most feared FIGHTER fighter. The next closest would be Orr and Goddard TKO'd him this year. I think people are picking Belak mostly because of the Brash Beatdown. You heard it here first: 2010-2011's best fighter: Boris Valabik

Anyone who knocks out Brashear and has a winning record against Boogaard gets my vote. Win Belak in my opinion.

Wade gets it with a very solid record and the shot heard round the world this year.

I'll go with Big Wade. He had a dominant year even if he wasn't as active as I would've liked. His TKO of Brashear was 'the shot heard 'round the world', and should be commended.

Eric Godard was a close second, IMO. He was active and was a wrecking ball this year, even breaking the enormous Steve MacIntyre's orbital bone. But that feat paled in comparison to Belak's TKO.

Orr

Since it's the Probert Award, and I think of him as fighting the biggest, toughest guys on the other team, no matter what, and he didn't always win. I'm going to consider the opponents, and I think Orr's were the toughest. And he goes out and throws em, like Probie did. And he held his own and then some against Brash and Goddard on multiple occaisions. Belak had a big year, and easily wins the Kocur Award for the first or second TKO of Brash ever, and Goddard was great - there must be some award he wins, but I think Orr would make Probie proudest. Brash, Boogie and BGL rode their well-earned reputations and injuries to decent paychecks I guess.
