That's his opinion. There are many others that feel he should be on the list. Points alone don't always tell the entire story. I think 29 other teams in the league would love to have a player like Iginla or Richards too (or hell, anyone on this list!)
But yeah, Lucic is a beast on the forecheck, and i wish him nothing but the best when he goes to try out for team canada.

I think in 3 or 4 years Looch will legitimately deserve to be on the list of "Skilled Fighters". All I'm saying is he's not there yet.

Sheldon Souray = 53 points and a better fighter than Lucic
Shea Weber = 53 points and a better fighter than Lucic
Chara = Norris Trophy winner and a better fighter than Lucic.

Shawn Thorton's point total was only thrirty pts behind Looch, why not throw him on the list?

I wouldn't completely laugh off Sheldon Souray. I do believe Lucic is probably the better fighter, but not by a very large margin. An angry Souray is pretty tough to beat.

I agree with the most part. Souray in his prime was pretty vicious with his left, but he certainly seemed to drop off with age, understandably. This years fight card isn't littered with guys that impress you. I think the 2008-9 Souray would lose a series nowadays, but the Souray of 5+ years ago would stand a better chance.

I guess this is all a question of talent. Of course there are guys with more talent on that list (iggy, richards) but Lucic brings alot more to the table than just goal scoring.

Yes he had 17 goals and and 42 points, not exactly huge numbers. But If you watched the Bruins this season Lucic was as important to there success as anyone.

The vote was for most skilled fighter.

If you want to say who is the best player/toughest at his postition its a whole different story. That would be Zdeno Chara.

But since everyone can only vote once and Lucic got 340+ he must be doing something right.

Of course it is. But at the same time there are some situations where it simply isn't. Is Tom Kostopoulos tougher than Colton Orr? Maybe someone out there is naive enough to believe that, but most knowledgeable people sure don't. Out of the five players mentioned in this category nobody on the list is tougher than Lucic. And according to the voting, a majority of people agree with that assessment.

It's a freakin list of skilled fighters. Only dudes that are "skilled" should be on it. When you let a winger with only 42 points on the list, it becomes a joke. Lucic is a solid hockey player. Lucic is no where near as skilled as the other forwards on this list.

I didnt vote for Lucic, but the overwhelming majority did. So people, even if they dont like him, think he is the winner of the category. Move on....
