The portion of my post you decided to quote was just me explaining to Legend why I voted the way I did.

Sheldon Souray = 53 points and a better fighter than Lucic
Shea Weber = 53 points and a better fighter than Lucic
Chara = Norris Trophy winner and a better fighter than Lucic.

Shawn Thorton's point total was only thrirty pts behind Looch, why not throw him on the list?

I'm not saying Iginla would beat lucic in a fight, but it would be closer then you think. Look at who both of them have fought, and try to tell me with a straight face that Lucic's card is THAT much better.
To be honest, after looking at Lucic's card. 2008-2009 was a really bitch year for him, look at who he scrapped with in 2007-2008, theres some big name dudes on there. When really only the REAL fighters on his list in 2008-2009 were Neil and Boulton (I can't believe DYG has it Boulton-Lucic as a draw)

For a 2nd year pro player it really isn't that bad. Lucic is a guy that last fought Jordan Bendfeld before stepping into the NHL. It's a pretty big leap fighting the likes of junior players and dropping the mitts with Raitis Ivanans in his 2nd NHL game. Although it's funny most of the Lucic bashers fail to even recognize this fact. Lucic also fought every tough guy in the WHL, whereas Iginla did not.

Granted, I'll give you Iggy didn't fight everyone in the WHL, but he didn't have to. He was a SKILL player (hey would you look at that, look at the title of the thread)

I don't think that its hard to understand, he's simply stating that he shouldn't be on the list, because he is no where near as talented as the other players in the aspect of the game.
Next year, there should be another poll.
"Not quite the most hockey skilled fighters, not great at hockey, but they can play a solid 2nd-3rd line shift"
And put Lucic and company in there.

I also get annoyed at people that constantly praise Lucic and try and make him out to be bigger than he is. Especially because I've been a Lucic fan a lot longer than they have, being as I've watched him play since he was 15. Yet you don't usually see me spewing off about Lucic left and right. I try and avoid these kind of topics as much as possible.

At the same time all the Lucic bashers drive me insane as well. Let's just say many people don't know the whole story when it comes to the biggest issues involving Lucic. The word "Skilled" is also up there with "Fighter" in the title.

Maybe Lucic is the best fighter on the list, and if that's how most people are looking at it, I can see why so many voted for him. There is already a vote for best fighter.

I just can't stand when people act like this guy is gods gift to fighting.
I think they league needs more of everyone on this list, hell. Anyone in any of the polls the league needs more of.
