2006-07: People's Choice Award

Quite simply, this is where you vote for your FAVORITE enforcer. We have a limit of 30 options here and obviously everyone can be included. I went with the most likely people to receive votes. For example, I put in Ole-Kristian Tollefsen because of his overseas following, while excluding more accomplished rookie defenseman like Shane O'Brien. If you want to add a write-in vote, feel free.

My Pick

Though Colton Orr is a new fan-favorite for me, I will stick to my guns and support a Islander cheap-shot artist... yes yes, I'll stay true to Chris Simon.

I don't normally pick favorites, as my reasons have tended to shift from play to off-ice things. George Parros has the look and gave a cool shout-out on SI.com, so I'll go with him.

I went with Boogie. To see him single-handedly strike fear into the Oilers on a regular basis was impressive. My 2nd choice would be Lappy with the Parros 'stache not too far behind.

I went with McGrattan. He has been my favorite for a couple years. There was not an overwhelming number one this year. Brashear maybe but it was definitely an off year for consistency. No one was solid day in day out.

D.J. King. He's my favorite fighter, and he had a great rookie season. He easily broke the top 10, and he could even be ranked as high as #6. Pretty darn good if you ask me.

I mean, look at his fight card. He fought all heavyweights, and beat most of them too. He had wins over Low, Parker, Hordichuk, Shelley, Parros, Thornton, and Barch. He had a draw against Boogaard in the preseason, and his only loss came to Boogaard, but he made it close.

I'm not being a homer either. You have to admit that he was one of the best fighters in the league this year, and that was as a rookie (22 years old). He has a bright future ahead of him, and I could even see him as champ sometime. He was very exciting to watch, and everyone loves his fighting style. This guy is awesome, and it's been gauranteed that he WILL be back on the Blues 4th line next year. Thanks for the excitement you gave us fight fans, D.J. He had a great year.

Give me Parros! He's not the best or most dangerous fighter by any means. But here are the pluses; cult-like following in Anaheim ('stache's for sale at the pond, Parros t-shirts on all the hotties, etc.), good guy, donated his hair to Locks of Love charity, Lead the league in FM's. Admittedly reads and scouts via HOCKEYFIGHTS.COM, he's smarter than you or I (went to Princeton), he knows his role, and he has a great 'stache. What's not to love?

Brian Mcgrattan.
Dissapointing year imo, but as always....with limited playing time theres other to put the blame on.
He looked decent in the actual fights though.
