I think these nominees go to show how lousy of a year it was. I'm going with Gratton-Vandermeer, because it was an absolute slugfest. Not too many toe-to-toe bouts this year.

Gratton-Vandermeer I think takes it. I agree there isn't that much tough competition.

Jim Vandermeer, IMO, gets this award two years in a row.

His slug fest of a brawl with Aaron Downey, and now his toe to toe war with Josh Gratton.

Jimmy V vs. Gratts gets my vote.

Boogaard-Godard a close second.

Gratton vs Vandermeer was hardly a battle for the ages, but it was a good, long scrap, nonetheless. Best fight of the year.

There wasn't really a stand out fight for me this year, so I went with the consensus Vandermeer vs Gratton.

My vote is for Vandermeer vs. Gratton. Both of those guys are kinda small, but they can really chuck 'em, and they both have steel chins. That was a very entertaining bout, so it gets my vote. Both are underrated too IMO, so it's good to see them get some recognition.

I'd say Godard Vs Boogaard. It was a bit better then Vandermeer vs Gratton in my view. As the ending was great as everyone thought there was no way to beat Boogaard in a toe to toe fight but Godard didn't just beat him he dropped him. It was the fight of the year IMO which isn't saying much as there wasn't many quality fights this year.

My actual favorite wasnt even listed, so i put my vote on Simon-Fedoruk.

The first Brashear-Peters fight, that one was awesome.
It had some kind of drama that you rarely saw this past season imo, hard to explain but thats how i feel about it.
The old against the new, a clash of generations...

Janssen VS.Orr from November of 2006, should definitely be on that list.

i've watched that fight about a dozen times since then. its a total barn burner.

I couldn't agree more. There is nothing better than watching Goliath fall to the ice.
