2006-07: Best Team Feud
Rivalries seem to be dying in the NHL as the league steps up pressure to foil and potential for fireworks following nasty games. The following matchups either put up good fight totals (sometimes for no reason whatsoever), or those that tried to ignite following dirty hits or a nasty game.
Nominees New York Rangers - Washington Capitals 6 fights in 4 games, including Colton Orr vs Donald Brashear three times, Donald Brashear vs Brendan Shanahan, Brashear sucker punching Aaron Ward, and Orr cheapshotting Alexander Ovechkin. Anaheim Ducks – Dallas Stars 7 fights in 8 games, including a nasty January game featuring Krys Barch vs Chris Pronger and Shane O'Brien. Anaheim Ducks - Chicago Blackhawks 9 fights in 4 games, including Sean O'Donnell and David Koci fighting before the drop of the puck following a mini-brawl. Atlanta Thrashers – Washington Capitals 5 fights in 8 games, but a Andy Sutton high hit turned the 4th game into a street fight in the last few minutes. New Jersey Devils - Toronto Maple Leafs 2 fights in 4 games, but perhaps the most hyped fight of the year (Belak-Janssen) resulted as a result of Janssen's knocking out Tomas Kaberle with a borderline hit. Buffalo Sabres - Ottawa Senators 9 fights in 8 games, including the wildest brawl of the year with goalie Ray Emery fighting twice and a rematch game that produced another couple of solid fights, all sparked by Chris Neil's dangerous hit on captain Chris Drury. My Pick Buffalo-Ottawa combined great brawl games with a constant dislike that seemed to produce fights every game. Previous Winners 2003-04: New York Rangers – New York Islanders 2005-06: Calgary Flames – Vancouver Canucks |

I voted for Buffalo and Ottawa.
The Rangers and Caps have a pretty good team feud, but you just can't vote against two teams that had a huge brawl, plus a goalie fight. That was the best moment of the whole year.
