Sound Tigers Sign Kenny Reiter

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (July 23, 2012) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today that goaltender Kenny Reiter has agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way (AHL/ECHL) deal.

Reiter, 25, earns his first pro contract after completing his collegiate career at the University of Minnesota-Duluth last season. The Pittsburgh, PA native posted a career-best 23-9-6 record with the Bulldogs last season in addition to a 2.43 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage. Reiter made his professional debut with the Sound Tigers late in the 2011-12 campaign, stopping 26-of-29 shots in a 3-2 loss against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

The 5'11. 170-pound net-minder earned national recognition with Minnesota-Duluth during the 2010-11 season, totaling a 16-7-5 record while leading the Bulldogs to the Men's Ice Hockey Division I Championship. Over his collegiate career at Minnesota-Duluth, Reiter compiled a 52-26-11 record and nine shutouts. Reiter was also named to the WCHA All-Academic Team all four years at Minnesota-Duluth and honored as a WCHA Second-Team All Star last season.

Prior to attending Minnesota-Duluth, Reiter played five seasons of junior hockey from 2002-07, spending the majority of his junior career in the North American Hockey League.
