Rochester at Rockford 12/14/07
Here's a video of the brawl at the final buzzer of this game last night
It doesn't show the beginning, but it's all I've found so far.

Thanks for the clip. Gotta love those late fireworks. Kaleta looked pretty unhappy at the end there.

Looks like the Matt Cooke of the AHL got his butt handed to him. I only wish more of them could of taken a shot at Kaleta. Kaleta is a big man hitting Ryan with his stick.
This is from the Rochester paper Cunneyworth says Rockford's attack on Kaleta is "gutless" and a "disgrace" Staff writer (December 15, 2007) — Patrick Kaleta has always said he's willing to take a punch to help his team. On Friday night, the second-year right winger took a lot of punches and, as a result, he may not be of any help to the Rochester Americans tonight in Peoria. Kaleta was jumped by two and perhaps three players during an end-of-game melee as the Rockford IceHogs used their fists to put an exclamation point on a 5-1 victory over the Amerks in Rockford, Ill. "It's a disgrace," Amerks coach Randy Cunneyworth said. "Gutless. Absolutely gutless." Kaleta delivered a check on defenseman Prestin Ryan in the closing seconds, and in an instant Ryan, Adam Berti and at least one other IceHogs player began throwing punches. When the players were separated, an irate Cunneyworth stopped to yell at Rockford coach Mike Haviland as he passed by the IceHogs bench. "He sends three guys out to tee up Kaleta," Cunneyworth said. "Pretty brutal. All I know is that it better be dealt with properly." Cunneyworth was inferring that the American Hockey League ought to dole out appropriate punishment in the form of suspensions and/or fines. He said Kaleta probably won't play in tonight's 8:05 game at Peoria. "He's pretty banged up," he said after the Amerks lost their fifth in a row. They have lost nine of 12 and are 10-15-1-2. |
