Josh Caron is back with Houston and Darren Kramer is back with Binghamton, so the scratches have been removed.

Chris Brown for Portland should be in tonight.

Does anyone know what's up with Justin Johnson? He has played in only 4 or 5 games this year.

McIver with a high hit on Couturier, jumped by Manning.
Gallant pummeled Fitzgerald off a faceoff.

Adirondack at Bridgeport 12/22/12

Brandon Manning vs. Nathan McIver

53 seconds into the game, Couturier gets blindsided with a clean, shoulder to shoulder hit at center ice. Immediately, Brandon Manning came to his defense. I don't think Manning landed a punch, but McIver landed a few in a short, heat of the moment scrap. Good hit, good response.

Edge McIver.

Zack Fitzgerald vs. Brett Gallant

Just over a minute later, Fitzgerald and Gallant are lined up next to each other at a faceoff in the Bridgeport zone, and drop the gloves and the bucket when the puck drops. After a short square off they come together and start throwing some heavy punches. On first view, it looked like Gallant's punches were landing better, but both were trading one for one. Gallant took over when Fitzgerald's jersey came up over his head and got a couple good punches in.

The linesmen broke it up there. Fitz looked pissed that the linesmen broke it up. I think he wanted a better showing, especially since his jersey came over his head.

Edge Gallant.

Very nice gesture by the Tigers to put the names of the Newport shooting kids on the backs of their jerseys.

Gallant hammered Fitzgerald pretty good in that one.

That's just the way it's going to go."

Why was my post moved to here? Does AHL work differently than YSTB?

Gallant and Fitzgerald Round 2.

Fitzgerald never really had his balance and Gallant had his way with him again.

Gallant with the win again in round 2. Fitzgerald with the misconduct for continuing to throw.

I like what I'm seeing out of Fitzgerald so far. He seems to have a good fighter's attitude. Small sample size that I've seen, but still. Hoping he can win a few more and make it on the Flyers. They need to start bringing in players like him and Sestito badly. Guys like Simmonds, Hartnell, and Rinaldo are alright but they don't send the same messages that guys like Sestito and Fitz do. Simmonds is a great fighter for his size though. Guy is fearless.
