Norfolk Signs Bodie, Caputi, Guentzel, Hegarty, Kurtz and Schaus

NORFOLK - Norfolk Admirals Assistant General Manager Bob Ferguson announced today that six players have been signed to American Hockey League Standard Player Contracts (SPC):

Troy Bodie - Right Wing

Luca Caputi - Left Wing

Gabe Guentzel - Defenseman

Ryan Hegarty - Defenseman

John Kurtz - Left wing

Nick Schaus - Defenseman

Bodie is better than nothing, but they need a real enforcer to protect the kids like Etem and Palmieri.

Very unlikely to happen. Bodie was the main guy last year and the Ducks had no interest in signing anybody else for the Crunch. I'd be shocked if Anaheim allowed Norfolk to sign a real enforcer.

I will be very surprised if the Ducks allow Norfolk to bring in a legit. Bodie, Brittan, and Kurtz are more likely than not going to be what you get. Is it me or is the Norfolk defense really small on paper? With the exception of Clark, I do not see a lot of size on the d-line. Dont even bring Guenin into the conversation, as you will be as disappointed in his play as a lot of Crunch fans were while he was here. One of, if not the, worst player to ever wear the "C" in Syracuse.
