Manitoba signs Mark McCutcheon to PTO after Portland released him
The Manitoba Moose today announced they have signed forward Mark McCutcheon to a professional tryout contract.
McCutcheon, 25, has appeared in five games so far this season with the Portland Pirates after signing a professional tryout contract on Oct. 22/09. In that span, he's scored two goals and two penalty minutes. He has also seen action in three games with the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL where he has two points (1g & 1a) along with two penalty minutes. The Ithaca, NY native played in 133 career games in the AHL in three seasons with Portland and Lake Erie where he has 28 points (10g & 18a) and 145 penalty minutes. McCutcheon had his best season last year with the Monsters when he collected 17 points (6g & 11a) in 65 games. McCutcheon was originally drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the fifth round, 146th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
