Heat Sign Joe Callahan

Abbotsford, BC - The Abbotsford Heat announced today that they have signed free agent defenceman Joe Callahan to an AHL contract for the 2012-13 season.

Callahan, a native of Brockton, Massachusetts, has played 46 games in the NHL making his debut with the New York Islanders December 9, 2008. Over his nine AHL seasons Callahan has played 510 games while accumulating 120 points (22-98-120) and 359 penalty minutes. Last season Callahan scored three goals and added 17 assists for 20 points and 50 penalty minutes in 60 games.
