Charlotte Checkers head coach and general manager
Jeff Daniels announced today the team has assigned rookie forward Victor Rask to the Western Hockey League's
Calgary Hitmen.
Rask, 19, recorded five points (1g, 4a) in 10 games with the Checkers and had a plus-7 rating. The native of Leksand, Sweden enjoyed a four-game point streak from Oct. 19 - Oct. 28 and scored his first professional goal Oct. 19 at Milwaukee.
Rask was chosen in the second round (42nd overall) by the
Carolina Hurricanes in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft and was signed to a three-year, entry-level contract on Oct. 20, 2011.
