In addition to them they have a couple of other new guys that we may see drop the gloves. Rob Bellamy and Jonathan Kalinski were both agitators in college and racked up decent PIM's at that level so we may see them drop the gloves this coming season also.
Guenin and Cabana doesn't fight often enough to be on the list. I made a limit of having five fights last season(with some exception). Pretty much anyone can get three or four fights a season without being a fighter. Gotta draw the line somewhere!

Platil, I forgot though, since he didn't play in NA last year. I've added him now

1.) You couldn't have just posted this in the AHL Fighters thread that we already have? This didn't need a new thread - just post an update in the thread that's stickied in this forum.

2.) You can add Eric Neilson and Hans Benson to Peoria if they're still under contract.

3.) A lot of guys on your list won't even be in the AHL next year, as they'll be playing in the NHL. They are Wade Brookbank, Tim Conboy, Cody McLeod, Zenon Konopka, Steve Downie, Brandon Prust, Kris Newbury, and B.J. Crombeen. Other possibilities for the NHL are Tom Sestito, Cody Bass, Matt Carkner, Tim Jackman, Boris Valabik, Kyle Quincey, Nathan McIver, Rick Rypien, Mike Brown, David Koci, Triston Grant, Kelsey Wilson, Patrick Kaleta, and Drew Fata.

Found this

And Spiller was not given a qualifying offer so he became an UFA

1. Yes a new thread was needed. That thread you mentioned rarely was updated while I updated my 07-08 list almost daily. If you followed last season you must have seen that more people posted in my thread.Therefor I was more accurate and JayC needn't bother keeping his list up. He does a lot of other great work for this site so I think he liked getting more time to do that. And a new season, a new thread
2. I know Benson was on a one-year contract and I really think Neilson was, too. I haven't found anything saying otherwise
3. Yes, several of those players won't be in the AHL this year, but several will. I based my list from last years fighting and since I don't know who'll be up all year i called it the POSSIBLE fighters thread

dont worry about Mcsnipes dude, he must have run out of members to bash for picking on the poor "new" nhl and decided to find someone to use his keyboard toughguy routine on here in the ahl threads.

I appreciate your list and look forward to the updates that will surely come as more and more guys sign on with teams. Thanks for taking the time to research it and type it out.

And mcsnipes, who made you king dictator of this site anyway? And you accuse me of having no life? Maybe you should take a good long look in the mirror.

Klotz will be the guy taking on the heavies this season. He only had 14 fights last season, but I do remember reading 1 interview where he said the only reason he did not fight more in the WHL last year was that it was hard for him to find willing combatants so he should not have a problem dropping them on a regular basis.

Ah, good to know.

Anyway, hopefully Hershey picks ups another fighter or two. If they can add a some fighters, the East Division should be a good one this season.

LMAO.

Are you still bitter that I bashed your face in in that other thread? Well that's too bad. But you can stop crying now like a whiny little bitch.

I'm glad that I pissed you off though and proved you wrong. I obviously did my job then.

And yes, you have no life. I know you have a hard time trying to admit that, but it's true. You make things up to make yourself feel better - like that I'm a "new NHL fan", which I am NOT. But go ahead and keep talking **** dude. You're a sad, sad little man I tell you.

I think you're a little late to your ballet class too, so you better get going.

I really hope Konopka plays with Norfolk this year, but I also really want him to get a fair shot at the NHL. He would be the best captain (assuming he'd be given the 'C' if he's in Norfolk) Norfolk has probably had in a long time.

Well, in that case, I'm happy! Good to know. We haven't cut ties w/ Pisellini? He just doesn't seem to have any value as a player to the squad. His fighting is few and far between, and thats probably b/c of his hand injury. So i mean, i can't fault him for not wanting to hurt it for good.

And Manimal, i dig the list. Thanks for putting it together.

I dont know if Klotz is ready just yet for AHL hev's. Thats asking a lot of a 20 year old kid ,i think he would be better off to start in the ECHL and get used to the pro game. But he is big kid so that helps him out have to see but i think if Philly just tosses him in the deep end in the AHL he is going to take his lumps, good potential but i hope they dont rush him.

Kassian, and little Boogaard are getting moved along slowly and i think Philly should do the same with Klotz ..imo

Wow, that sucks haha.

This was in there though:

Went over some AHL free-agent names with Howard Saffan, and he said Micheal Haley, Tyler Haskins and Andy Sertich are all signed. Pascal Morency will be given a tryout invitation.

At least 2 will be back.

Yeah, we will have to see how they handle him this coming season.

Not sure if they will choose to send him to the ECHL next season, it seems like the Flyers have not sent that many players to the ECHL over the past few seasons, and the players they have sent down seem to be mostly guys they have given up on and are just dumping them there until their contracts run out.

The other thing that may effect the decision is if they decide it would be better for him to play under Berube in the AHL to help teach him how to fight at the pro level.
