Neilson with 2 wins. Second fight was shorter but very good.

Seriously, he's an average middleweight at best and really shouldn't be the one to fight the other teams enforcer every game. Why the hell do the Phantoms keep letting that happen?

Renegade11 02-09-2013 12:16 AM

The Crunch just seem to play better with Neilson in the lineup..don't know why they feel the need to dress 7 defensemen and sit him most games

Mclaren14 02-09-2013 12:43 AM

I like Fitzgerald's wllingness but damn does he suck at fighting

He has been overwhelmingly terrible this season.

Welp, saw this coming a mile away. Phantom loses a fight and the guy who really doesn't follow the team all that much aside from fighters is first to comment with the comment about how much they suck blah blah blah. You know, that CRAP gets old too bro.

As I had posted on the possible fight thread, the guy single handedly willed the Phantoms to get back in the game. Crunch scored goal one, he went off the ensuing faceoff. Did decent til the jersey came up. Crunch go up 2-0, he scores on a break away (yes, a breakaway) the next shift. Phantoms lose a little more momentum again so he fights Neilson again and was winning early and probably would have edged him til Neilson came on strong late and dropped him. Laliberte ties the game 2 minutes later and the Phantoms end the period with all the momentum.

He's definitely not having a great year win/loss wise but on a team that seems to dress half hearted guys, I'll dress him every game. Until Mathers gets there, he's the guy that has to deal with the heavyweights and he's answering the bell regularly. Rather have this guy in the lineup than what number 26 was doing all season before the lockout was over.

Also, Neilson, credit for going the second time as well. Up 2-1 late second period, he didn't have to go again but he did. Agreed the Crunch play better when he's dressed.

You're talking about his fighting talent. I never called the guy HW champ of the AHL. But you don't know crap about this Phantoms team other than your occasional look ins on the wins/losses and coming to simply say he sucks, he sucks, he sucks... You didn't know jack about Tye McGinn until I mentioned that he'd be a great guy to be with the Flyers then you looked up a vid of fights like I said to, probably saw his stats and were on the bandwagon. It gets way too old. And I"m not alone as a couple games ago I called you out and several agreed. I have no problem that you don't like Fitzy. But you don't need to come in tell us the same crap over and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over...and over again. People on the boards have eyes, they can see themselves. Problem is when they win a fight, you never comment. Hypocritical.

No problems with you disliking a guy or thinking he sucks. (Though I don't see his losses aside from Gallant and maybe 2 others as bad losses...definitely not wins but more draws/edges than anything. He was winning the second Neilson scrap the first half...that's not sucking imo) My problem is ya hopping in here, commenting only when a loss happens. Eddy beats McKelvie from Albany twice in one night pretty handily a couple weeks back and you're nowhere to be found. Next night he scraps again and loses and who's the first guy to comment....

He is a 6'2" 210lb guy who has fought many HW over the last few years...including multiple time Colton Orr, Stevie Mac, Westgarth multiple Yabo, Brookbank more than once, Boulerice more than once, Lessard, Finley, Bordeleau and quite a few other very big or very good HW's so I'd hardly call him an average MW.

Im not gonna sit here and lie i pretty much stopped caring or watchng the phantoms since before klotz. Back when they had josh gratton and boulerice. And no i dont post on every one of the ahl fights as most dont. Doesnt mean i dont know what im talking about for the most part. Im too busy following the flyers. There are players i dont know much about and there are some that i do on the phantoms but this is a hockey fight forum to post opinions about a fight not keep up with everyones stats in the A man. The phantoms team has been quite soft for awhile now as most people know. I get it that you follow them and know more ins and outs then I. But it doesnt mean im a less of a hockey fan because i have negative opinions on guys who get beat up alot. Just my 2 cents. However this is a forum for us to express how we feel about it so im not gonna stop.

he shouldnt be fighting heavies of this nature. And just because someone is 6ft 2 means he can hang with those guys. Some guys can some cant
