2 seasons ago, this thread was kept well updated, but last year it fell by the wayside.

Particularly for me in trying to keep up with injuries for the PF threads, since they're not regularly reported by the AHL, updating this thread will help me a lot.

Stefan Della Rovere suffered an offseason injury and is out "indefinitely", according to Dave Eminian of the Peoria Journal Star.

As Chilly pointed out in the PF thread for today, during the Devils/Phantoms scrimmage, Harry Young scrapped with Zack FitzGerald and left the ice with a possibly injured hand.

Defenseman Robert Bortuzzo, who left Friday’s game against Rochester early, is day-to-day with a lower body injury, Hynes said.

Oates said Paquette will have surgery on right arm Mon. or Tue. “I'm not totally sure on that, but I think it's going to be 6-10 weeks.”

According to Tim Leone again, it will actually be 8-10 weeks for Paquette, but this was close enough.

Harry Young played in the 10/6 game in Bingo, appeared fine.

Eric Gelinas took a puck in the mouth in the 1st and did not return.

Team captain Jason Jaffray, recovering from neck surgery last spring, won’t be available for Saturday’s opener in Springfield, Mass., against the Falcons, or Sunday’s game against the Connecticut Whale in Hartford, Conn.

Jaffray hopes to be ready for the home opener Oct. 19 against the Adirondack Phantoms.
Two players — newcomers Ryan Schnell and Ray Kaunisto — are suffering from concussion-like symptoms and their status for this weekend is questionable at best.
Both are considered players on the bubble in terms of earning a roster spot with the IceCaps.
“They were injured under our watch,” said McCambridge. “We want to see how they’re doing before making a move.

“To send an injured player back to the ECHL is not something that we want to set precedent.”

Ray Sawada reported to camp with a sore hamstring, injured during training home in Richmond, B.C., and is two weeks into his four-week recovery period. He will not play this weekend.

Albany coach Rick Kowalsky said Gelinas and Zajac are “out indefinitely.” Zajac, who did not play in any of Albany’s four preseason games, apparently has a lower-body injury. There is no word yet on the nature of Gelinas’ injury.

Goaltender Maxime Clermont, left wing J.S. Berube and center Steve Zalewski also remained in Newark to receive treatment for injuries and are considered “day to day”, according to Doherty’s report.

Dylan McIlrath, who is still weeks away from being allowed to skate following off-season knee surgery, continued his rigorous conditioning program, which has helped create a powerful and defined upper body on the Rangers first round pick from the 2010 draft. McIlrath reported on Wednesday that he feels "really great" and that he is being patient with his knee rehab though he also remains "really anxious" to get back out on the ice.

The club is still carrying 18 forwards -- Paul Byron and Greg Nemisz are currently nursing injuries -- so more cuts are necessary.

Rochester Americans right winger Corey Tropp will need surgery to repair ligament damage in his right knee and is expected to miss the remainder of the hockey season.

Tropp said there is damage to the medial collateral ligament and anterior cruciate ligament. The MCL apparently will heal through rehabilitation, and then he will require surgery to repair the ACL.

Robert Bortuzzo and Jayson Megna didn’t skate today, so you wouldn’t expect them to play this weekend. Keven Veilleux is also taking part in full practices and his season debut is just a matter of time.
