IceHogs to Have All Games Televised Live in 2012-13
Rockford, Ill.- The American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs, in conjunction with 23-WIFR, announced a partnership that will televise all 76 regular season and all additional postseason contests live on 23.2, (23 Weather Now) for the 2012-13 regular and postseason.
The partnership marks the first time in the IceHogs’ 14-year history that every game will be broadcast live on television. “23 Weather Now” is available to all Comcast Cable subscribers (Comcast Cable channel 436 in the Rockford market). Check local cable listings for “23 Weather Now” channel availability. “This is a ground breaking partnership and we are excited to provide our fans with an opportunity to watch every IceHogs game, whether it’s at home or on the road,” said RAVE’s Executive Director Gordon Kaye. “We’ve had a great relationship with 23 WIFR for the past 13 years and this joint venture with AHL Live will give viewers unique, local programming on 23 Weather Now.” All game feeds will be provided by AHL Live and will still be available, along with the radio broadcasts, online through AHLlive.com. Each broadcast will feature a 15-minute pregame show featuring an interview with IceHogs Head Coach Ted Dent, interactive intermission segments and a 10-minute postgame show recapping the game. Mike Peck returns for his 11th season as the voice of the IceHogs and will provide play-by-play for all regular season and postseason contests on “23 Weather Now.” The IceHogs kick off their 14th season of professional hockey in Rockford and sixth as the AHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks, on Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Allstate Arena against the Chicago Wolves at 7 p.m. Rockford’s home opener is slated for Saturday, Oct. 20 at the BMO Harris Bank Center at 7:05 p.m. against the Charlotte Checkers. |

TVA Sports Announced as French Broadcaster of Bulldogs' Games
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League and TVA Sports announced today that the Canadian network has been named the Official French Language Television Broadcaster of the Hamilton Bulldogs, and will produce and air Bulldogs games beginning with the 2012-13 season.
The first TVA Sports broadcast will be on Saturday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m. ET as the Bulldogs – top development club of the Montreal Canadiens – face off against the Toronto Marlies, the top affiliate of the Maple Leafs, at Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto. Future broadcasts will be announced at a later date. Play-by-play for Bulldogs games will be handled by the well-known, experienced team of commentator Michel Langevin, analyst Yvon Pedneault and reporter Enrico Ciccone. “The American Hockey League has long had a terrific fan base in Quebec and among all of French-speaking Canada,” said David Andrews, AHL President and Chief Executive Officer. “I am certain that TVA Sports viewers will enjoy seeing the Canadiens of the future in action today.” “With this new agreement, TVA Sports is proud to provide fans with high-level professional hockey starting in October,” said Pierre Dion, President and CEO of the TVA Group. “Up-and-coming Canadiens talent will be showcased early on in the Bulldogs’ season, and this agreement allows fans to follow the progress of future NHL stars such as Louis Leblanc, Brendan Gallagher, Nathan Beaulieu and Jarred Tinordi.” |

Americans and Time Warner Cable Announce 16 Game TV Schedule
The Rochester Americans announced today that Time Warner Cable SportsChannel will televise 16 regular season Amerks games during the 2012-13 American Hockey League season, including 14 home games and two road games, in Rochester and Buffalo.
The televised home games will be simulcast with the Amerks radio broadcasts, as Hall of Fame play-by-play broadcaster Don Stevens, the Voice of the Amerks now entering his 27th season with the club, will be joined by color analyst and former Sabre Ric Seiling in the broadcast booth. For the second straight season, 13 WHAM Sports Director Mike Catalana will join Stevens and Seiling on air as host of the television broadcasts. For the two road games scheduled to be televised in the market, the home team's play-by-play feed will be used. Amerks fans will still be able to listen to Stevens call the game on radio. Wolves Announce 69 Game TV Schedule for 2012-13
The Chicago Wolves will air 35 games on network television, 15 games on My50 Chicago (WPWR) and 20 contests on The U Too (WCIU-DT 26.2), this season. An additional 34 regular-season games will be broadcast live on Comcast Network 100 on XFINITY TV.

This is like watching triple A baseball. I enjoy hockey but I'm not interested in watching minor leaguers while the professionals are elsewhere. Give me NHL'ers or nothing.

IceCaps Announce 20 Live Games to be Broadcast Locally
The St. John's IceCaps, in conjunction with television broadcast partner Rogers TV, announced today their 2012-13 broadcast schedule.
Twenty IceCaps games will appear live on Rogers TV this season throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, beginning with the home opener this Friday, October 19 against the Adirondack Phantoms. The second game of the series against the Phantoms on Saturday, October 20 will also be broadcast live on Rogers TV. Four of the IceCaps’ first six home games will be shown live on Rogers TV. Also included are Tuesday, October 23 versus the Portland Pirates and Saturday, October 27 versus the Norfolk Admirals. Other notable live broadcasts include two games against the Hamilton Bulldogs (Tuesday, November 20 and Friday, March 15) and two contests versus the Toronto Marlies (Friday, January 11 and Friday, April 5). The home finale, on Sunday, April 14 against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, will also be shown live. The remaining 18 home games will be shown on tape delay the following day.
