Anton is Runners' enforcer

The enforcer in Kurtis Anton has fused with the leader in him, and it is making for one heck of a teammate.

Anton, the 20-year-old captain of the Topeka RoadRunners, is in a position where he can set the tone with his fists. And he says when he throws down, it provides the energy he wants his team to have.

"The main thing is that it just gets our guys going," Anton said. "It sends a message to the other team that we're not afraid. We're not scared of anything they're going to throw at us. It gets our guys pumped up, gets the adrenaline going and we come out flying right after."

Anton displayed his warrior mentality last weekend at Landon Arena, dropping the gloves both Friday and Saturday night against Texas.
