ouellet, danault, huberdeau, drouin, mckinnon and who else... oh yeah, hudon. mckinnon and ouellet had nothing to do there... drouin i can see the point, they want to give him experience at 17yrs old so hes a great player for team canada at 18-19. but the main point is this one, huberdeau isnt nearly has good as people say he is... i still cant believe some ppl think he was a good 3rd choice overall. one must follow the Q to see hes not THAT good. with charlie coyle, zack philips, tomas jurco, beaulieu, and all these guys on the seadogs he was looking great but now that theyre all gone, hes not even close to be a top scorer in the q. this tournament also exposed malcolm subban... i cant be sad though when thinking the bruins spent a 1st round pick for that garbage Last edited by habsfan1122; 01-05-2013 at 06:49 AM. |

as for danault, he did just fine. he played a role, he isn't accustomed too and did good in that said role. |

btw danault knows a lot about penalty killing... he came in the qmjhl at 16yrs old being one of the good penalty killers in the league... but he wasnt impressive with 1 assist in the tournament Last edited by habsfan1122; 01-05-2013 at 09:07 AM. |

that was not the point you made prior about mackinnon or drouin. mackinnon prior to the tournament earned his spot with his play. if you're gonna say one elite 17yr old deserves a chance to play, then another one does. that had no effect on how each played in the tourney.
you're one of the very few saying danault was not impressive. he may not have scored, but he played very well in his role compared to some others on team canada |

you can play an underager to develop him but two is too much, mckinnon was completly out matched in this tournament but drouin wasnt. team canada expected danault to be a little more than a unidimensionnal defensive forward with his 44pts in 29 games. he was given an offensive role on the 3rd line and steve spott even said he would play 3 offensive lines and danault was on one of these. to me he simply underachieved because he was supposed to score and play defense, but he only played penalty killing well. but anyway its not because of a marginal 3rd liner's fault if we looked bad in this tournament. its more about playing garbage goaltenders like subban and binnington, playing garbage defensemen like murphy and reinhart... |

if we traded john gibson for malcolm subban canada would have won the gold medal. hands down john gibson.

He was great all tournament and easily deserved the MVP. Trouba also impressed me. Seth Jones showed why he will be a top 3 pick in the upcoming draft.
Anyways congrats to the Americans they played well as a team and deserved the gold. Phil Housley deserves some of credit too, he made adjustments after the first game against Canada and the game against Russia. It's too bad Sweden didn't have Zibanejad, Klefbom, Brodin and Lindholm. They could of been a real force. The loss was the first loss in 11 games at the World Juniors too that's an impressive run. I also am not a fan of the Russian's taunting the Canadian bench after the game ended. Very classless.
