Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is confirmed for Team Canada's training camp. Great news for Canada not so great for the rest of the tournament.

Huberdeau's suspension will be served when he is at the World Juniors - He's served one game and three more Saint John games and it is served.

It's a completely pointless suspension that it may as well have been 10 games - it won't make a single piece of difference.

Hockey Canada has begun the process of cutting down its World Junior selection camp roster as Sean Monahan, Adam Pelech and Tyler Graovac were released from the squad on Wednesday in the first round of cuts. Starting with 36 players in camp, Canada will take a 23-man squad to Ufa, Russia to compete in the 2013 tournament.

Kind of surprised Canada actually took 2 players that are 17 years old, especially with there being a NHL lockout. Nonetheless i am very happy too see the 2 Mooseheads make the team.

Yeah it's pretty uncommon to see a player passed over in the NHL draft make the team. He is having a great season in the Dub, it least stat wise. I haven't seen him play much since i am on the East coast.

I was a little surprised to see Corrado cut. He had an excellent camp.

Hopefully Subban shows up better then he did at the selection camp where he put up the worst numbers out of the 4 goaltenders.

He is...but a lot of that has to do with the two guys he's playing with. Not to take anything away from Lipon. He's a hard working physical player with some skill. But I see some better players were cut instead of him. So that makes me scratch my head a little.

But Drouin has probably been the best player in the CHL so far this season.

CALGARY, Alta. – Hockey Canada, in partnership with the Canadian Hockey League (CHL), announced Friday that Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (Burnaby, B.C./Oklahoma City, AHL) has been named captain of Canada’s National Junior Team for the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Head coach Steve Spott made the announcement prior to Canada’s departure for Helsinki, Finland.

Two players were also named as alternate captains by Spott: Scott Harrington (Kingston, Ont./London, OHL) and Jonathan Huberdeau (St-Jérôme, Que./Saint John, QMJHL).
