I found "College Football National Championship" (the first one) for the Genesis at a thrift store amongst some VHS's. Plays okay, the option isn't really an option, gotta scramble with the QB on a run sweep but you can pitch it behind the line of scrimmage. Defense feels a little clunky, but given I don't have any other football game at the moment it'll do. It does have a good stat system, which I enjoy since the SegaCD hockey game I have completely lacks them besides team postgame stats.

Speaking of, still trucking along on that season. In the midst of another big winning streak (6ish?) and getting towards the end of January.

Also just bought 4 more games online. Slowly growing collection...

Any good recommendations out there?

Dumping off Assassins Creed 3 and Skyrim when I get home, so I should have a good chunk of change to put towards another game or two.

I'm still waiting for Sleeping Dogs to drop in price. I almost bought it on Black Friday for $25, but held off. I'm regretting that now since it's $50 everywhere.

Anyway, I bought Fight Night Champion on Sunday. That game is the greatest boxing video game ever made. It looks pretty realistic and I like how you can have inside fighters, outside fighters, counter punchers, etc. Also, I downloaded the bare knuckles mode and it's so bloody and gruesome, but incredibly awesome.

Finally making something resembling progress on Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Got the relaunch for 3DS, and I'm liking it better than I remember it for my N64!

Never played the first one but Uncharted 2 is one of the best games on the PS3. It really set the bar for gaming when it came out and still holds its own. Would highly recommend you make time for it.

Getting Blops 2 (even though I bashed the COD series in an earlier post lmao.)and NBA 2k13 tomorrow.

Just finished the Mass Effect series pretty recently and they're up there with MGS as my favourite series all time. If you have the time to really get into them they're about as good as it gets for production value and plotline.

I got 10+ new games for Genesis over the last couple weeks whether it be thrift store finds or online. Just put in a session on Championship Pro-Am. It's got the same track order as the first RC Pro-Am on NES but it's 5 comps instead of 3. But other than that it's really just the original with some prettier graphics. Needless to say I made it to the track 30 or 31 before running out of continues.

The other one I've been giving some time to so far (just got back home, so barely scratching the surface of everything) is Super High Impact. It's an NFL Blitz predecessor. Features trash talking, shoulder pads exploding, stomping on a tackled opponent, and hockey-esque brawls with 5 simultaneous fights. I've just done a couple exhibitions as "Team Africa". Good times.

Also while testing the other games to make sure they work, I'll have to say Animaniacs caught my attention. Have never played it prior for some reason and I don't know how the rest of the game plays out but the 5secs I tried it I liked the concept of controlling all three of the Warner siblings with 3 unique "attacks". Probably the next game on deck as far as a game requiring completion.

I beat Hitman. Sh1tty storyline, but the amount of creative ways you can kill people makes up for it. This song plays during the closing credits. I f*cking love it. It sounds like Johnny Cash came back to life to sing it. Sounds fantastic.

Planetside 2

Having pretty much crushed Arkham City, I decided to try a multiplayer FPS. Downloaded the MMOFPS Planetside 2 last night but haven't had a chance to play it yet. Everything I'm reading about it seems like it should be a good time killer for a bit.

It's like Battlefield 3 (lots of vehicles, air and ground, different classes you can spawn as) set in the future but it has a consistent world, so eventually one of the 3 factions will take control of the entire planet.

It's free to play - which is a model I usually despise - but doesn't appear to have the really restrictive lockouts that a game like Star Wars MMORPG does, everything that you can pay for you can also 'earn' by playing the game for free.

I'll keep you guys updated on what faction and server I roll on in case you want to squad up.

I bought a half fifth of Popov vodka because I'm a cheap/poor drunk and it has a picture of that cathedral in the Red Square with the weird towers on the label. Needless to say I've ended up playing Tetris four nights straight. NES (not Tengen) version on NES (emulator). Like riding a bike... Will always be number one.

NHL 13 is a puzzling game. While they improved the skating and overall atmosphere of the games itself, they took a step back with this glitch happy hitting.

I got hipped checked....the closest guy was 3 ft away...

Other than some of those glitches I would say I give them an A for effort, but a C for product.
