Multiplayer is where it's at in this game.

I'm using Axton, my roomate is the gunzerker. I've died maybe 3-4 times total. They took away the gun proficiency bars in this one and tried to make the 3 specialization trees better. I'm enjoying my upgraded gun turret.

The vending machines have offered me jack sh*t as far as good weapons, so have the drops from bosses. All the weapons I am using I scored from the slot machines at Moxie's in Sanctuary, the slots are relatively cheap and usually pay out with a decent item after 8-10 tries. I would not be surprised if they nerfed them in some way sooner or later. I think I may have found a good weapon from a gun chest somewhere, but I can't remember.

Speaking of items, sniper rifles are still king at this point. The critical hit modifier for headshots with them lets me one shot most monsters. For other guns it's best to have elemental damage included, even if the damage is displayed as less than the non-elemental damage items. This is especially true for metal shield wielding enemies, which there are a lot of. I also haven't seen any Atlas made weapons yet, which is disappointing because they were always some of the best in the first game due to their random properties not having the negative effects as other brands. I think I read somewhere that Atlas will not be in this game because the original vault hunters bankrupted them after they destroyed the armory, but it would be nice to still have a few of their weapons here and there.

The humor in the game is similar to the first and I've gotten a few chuckles here and there.

I haven't looked ahead, but I hope this game isn't the same as the first when it comes to completing it, and then having you replay the whole thing again to max out your level. It's good, but I don't see myself playing through the whole thing again, at least not with the same character.

Also, make sure you redeem your 'badass tokens' when you get them. A lot of people i've talked to had no clue what they were or that they even had them. They give you permanent skill bonuses.
Yeah, I just entered the Fridge. And I've been all over the badass coins. I miss the weapon proficiencies. But whatever. Been using assault rifles and pistols mostly. Then I've been focused on the left side of the tech tree for Axton. So-so. I'm def underpowered and underarmed in a lot of scenarios. But that's how it goes playing single.

Also been doing every side mission except I noticed that there was an exclamation point on the map in Sanctuary but I activated the attack on Sanctuary by turning in the Wilhelm power core thingy. So I dunno if I missed that one for good, or if it was a silly one that will be amongst the missions upon getting back there. Other than that, I've been doing everything.

Also I'd say my death total is around 20times

If you are under-armed, play the slot machines at Moxie's bar a couple times. They are scaled to your char level as well as main quest progress. You will get a weapon that is an upgrade over what you have fairly quickly.

I have a combination of assault rifle/sniper/and i switch out the third slot with either a high proc fire SMG or a shotgun - depending on the mobs I'm up against.

Some other thoughts on the game...

- Grenades seem to be under-utilized, I rarely ever use mine, and I don't know if it's because I haven't found any transcendent mods yet or not

- Class mods seem to be worthless compared to the first game, but that could just be because I'm low level

- Relic mods...haven't found a decent one yet

- Turtle Shields are stupid

- Money and ammo is too abundant

Protip: Mouse over the items in your inventory and you will see a gold star and a red X to the right of the graphic. Clicking on the star will mark your item as a 'favorite', clicking on the x will mark the item as 'trash'. When at a vendor you cannot sell favorite items, and you can sell all of your items marked as trash by simply pressing 'delete'.

I've used some weapons from the slots, but always end up with better drops.

I just got a SMG I like with no recoil as my current third gun. Burst on scoped is it's only other specialty. Upper mid-range damage.

I actually use grenades a lot. I found a high enough damage mod for an explode on contact lob. Got accuracy down on it pretty good. Also have a corrosive one for the robot dudes.

Agree that the Class mods SUCK. In the first one I rolled through 2 or 3 different mods depending on the mission. This game, I've used the same Rifleman mod the since I found it.

Relic mods are useless as well.

I laughed the first time I saw a turtle shield and didn't touch it. Thought it was a joke. Then they just kept showing up. I still use the shield I turned the one robot dude's core in to. Or an elemental melee counter one depending on mission.

First, a preface. This is the first Madden game I've bought in I think 7 years. And the first for Xbox360 (2005 or 2006 was the last one I bought for PS2).

The good:
-The highly touted physics engine does make the game far more realistic and enjoyable. The hits are spectacular, and if you're going to take to the air - be very careful, your going to get obliterated. Players no longer blend together on the ground, there are no hitting and players being combined in one mass of ugly graphics - it's very smooth and layered and very nice.
-The directional passing. It's a little strange at first, but once you get the hang of it, it makes throwing the ball with precision very nice and very helpful.
-Defensive "what the ****" factor has been removed. As was the case with NCAA13, the defensive players being able to go from hashmark to sideline in less than a blink of the eye when facing the opposite way is gone.

The bad:
-Run blocking. I can't tell you how many times a player will pull around the end of the line and completely run past the linebacker standing right there.
-Offensive awareness in general. Far too many times you'll find your receiver in perfect position to catch, and he won't put his hands up. Or if you're being blitzed, and your running back is in to help, he'll not pick up the blitz but double team and end or DT that doesn't need it.

The ugly:
-Defensive awareness as a whole. It's extremely easy to throw or run on defenses because the players will not cover players in their zone. If you're playing on D as a career, good luck. You're left out to dry EVERY time if you don't make the sack. Man coverage, deep zone over the top, you think you're safe with one receiver in the route in that zone? Nope. It's just awful, really.
-The career mode is a joke. If you create a player and go to a team that has a player in that position of decent skill, you're not playing. Quite literally, you can go the entire season without seeing the field for more than special teams. For example, I create a RB and choose the Steelers. I have been behind Mendenhall for 2 entire years - despite him having 6 fumbles in one year, and 4 in the next. I've returned punts and kicks, and have controlled field goal kicking - that's it. I get it, they want realism or whatever. But, how many teams - at RB for example - can you join that are decent playoff teams that will allow you to play? It's a ****ing joke really. If you want to be a RB in franchise mode, you literally have to pick a garbage team and hope your 79 rating as a rookie will surpass whatever starter is there.

That's it.
So, an extension to this, as I got into the offseason mode of the "franchise" mode.

It's awful. Simply, ****ing awful.

1. There is no way to find out stats of free agents. You see an overall, and their type (speed, route runner, balanced etc) and that's it. You can't even pull open a player card to see how ****ing big they are.

2. You can't see what other teams are bidding, no feedback from the free agent you're targeting, and your negotiations with your pending FAs last a week, if you're lucky. If you don't give them EXACTLY what they want, they're gone. When it's the offseason, if you bid on them, there is no confirmation another team signed them or what they say about your offer... it's just keep raising it until free agency ends. Just ****ing brutal.

3. The draft is realistic, but chaotic and retarded. You have your analysts there and Trey Wingo is announcing it. Great. But, the time and the player selection is just an awful process. It's hard to sort this, there is barely any time to see what you actually need. It's just a mess really.

I really wish they'd mix the on field play of Madden with the off the field activity and depth of NCAA... perfect football game then.

I like Madden's gameplay but NCAA is a better game in a whole.

Im shelving Madden. **** this.

i ****ing love Madden. the connected career thing is the best thing to happen to video games in years. my favorite mode of any sports game is always the "my player / be a pro" mode, now i can compete against my friends too? **** yes.

if this was in NHL 13, i'd never sleep.

Still chugging away on Borderlands 2. Enjoying the game more and more as I progress through it. I'm lvl 21 now I believe.

Beat FTL yesterday for the first time. Used the class B variation of the Kestrel starter ship, the Red-Tail. Burst Lasers mk I and mk II are the absolute best bang for your buck around when it comes to taking up power slots. I lucked out and found 3 of them in stores, as well as a scrap recovery arm early in the first sector. The final boss' 2nd phase is definitely harder than any of the others. Breach drones are terribly effective at f*cking up my sh*t.

I then went on to beat it first try with the recently unlocked Federation Cruiser ship. Gonna have to start working to unlock other ships to try them out now.

All I was able to do yesterday was play rounds 2,3, and 4 of the arena (one more to go)... But... I skyrocketed to *almost* level 21?? I mean I know I'm playing single so I need to be a little ahead as far as my level is concerned but does the game suddenly get harder when you return to Sanctuary???

Busted out Red Dead Redemption last night after practice.

This game will never get old. Until a sequel comes out, then it will get old.

I like sitting outside of the saloons and shooting at drunks and sloots.

Well I just did the moon beam thingy to be able to fast travel to Sanctuary again. Beat the waves of robot scum. But didn't travel yet because the bounty board there popped up and there was two missions but one was a lame ass timed one so I just quit for the time being.

Almost level 22. Rockin' an Automatic with a slag or slack or whatever effect it's called. It lobs shots, but I got the aim down now. Then a MIRV grenade with 1000+ x 7 and my turret and its pretty much no contest for any enemy right now. Got a decent sniper that hits hard on critical to back it up. And just whatever else depending on the situation for the third slot. Already close to 15hrs.

Played some Borderlands 2 and had some disappointing things happen.

First, Fink's Slaughterhouse keeps glitching out on the last round for me and the waves just stop spawning, but the quest doesn't complete. Only way out of it is to either restart or kill myself. Read up on the forums that it's because one of the enemies were killed out of the radius of the arena or something so it doesn't register correctly. It happened twice in a row and I didn't feel like wasting anymore time with it, I know others have completed the arena just fine, but two times in a row is crappy. Gearbox needs to patch that.

Second, duped items. Duping items is terribly easy in this game. Join a game hosted by someone else, throw an item on the ground, alt+f4 real quick, and then rejoin. The item will be on the ground as well as in your inventory. Ta-da! You just duped an item. The game only updates it's 'inventory save files' every few minutes, or when someone gets to an auto-save location. It's ridiculous.
Anyways, my roommate was playing a public game on his assassin alt and a lvl 50 came in and just started dropping orange weapons, shields, nade mods, relics, etc all over the place. Literally hundreds of them.

When asked about it he said he had a glitched vending machine that only has orange items for sale, and that he duped the ones he had, sold them for crazy money and just kept repeating it. I join the game and take some of the skins but leave all the other stuff (the skins I took look pretty sweet). I could have fully geared up for level 50 but I didn't want to ruin my game; and I also assume sooner or later Gearbox is going to nuke all the duped items (like D2 'Rust Storm' patch back in the day). I don't play in public games so I have no clue how common this is, but ANYONE can trivially dupe things, so I have to assume it's pretty bad. Gearbox especially needs to patch this.
