Downloading Faster Than Light right now. From what I hear it's crazy addictive.
*EDIT* And it certainly is. It's hard too. A spaceship strategy/RPG/roguelike where you pilot a ship and crew. Depending on what ship/crew/equipment you take and what encounters you get the strats you use are completely different. I recommend it.

just finished the ballad of gay tony and lost and damned.
I never bothered to buy this but after reading everyones comments i had to get it before the next instalment.Was cool to get back into it and i loved lchc and liberty rock. Having "dead by dawn" blasting while roaring round town going crazy was cool and it also led to me d/loading evil dead 2 and army of darkness win/win |

Got NHL 2k10 pretty cheap a while back figurin it may be the last hockey game I get for a while. Dropped a new team in Atlanta cause it feels weird cause the Thrashers ain't there no more and started up a dynasty after a draft. So far I'm really enjoyin it, especially the fightin. Except that the ratins seem to be arbitrary. I had a guy in the high 80s get dropped by a guy in the low 50s. And I don't think I've yet seen an opposition 4th line. Aside from those two I really don't have any complaints. But I'm only about 15 games into my first season. I really like the contact engine. It's always bothered me that you can throw a massive check and your guy never loses his balance.
Also, points for realism: the Thrashers' pk looked like someone put a hole in the fuel lines. The radio guy in Atlanta always used to say "Thrashers pk unit leaking oil out there" hahaha

Oh btw, FTL is f*cking awesome, way more depth than I originally thought. It's one of those games where you start playing it, then look at the clock and it's 3 hours later. "Just one more jump..."

Tried installing the original Hitman a few days back, that game has aged horribly. First thing I've played since beating Bastion however long ago that was.
Grabbed FLT to try though, sounds good. Also I never got to finish KOTOR waaaay back when it first came out because I had a ****ty PC at the time (battles started slowing down to unbearable). Grabbed that for heck of it. FLT will probably get time first though. EDIT: Played the tutorial on FLT... Gonna have to resist starting this game until I get some "real life" **** I have to do, done tomorrow because I'm already getting excited. Last edited by NickDoh; 09-17-2012 at 11:54 PM. |

Well, FLT is cool. Got Black Mesa which I'm not liking because of the gay little liberties they took with the game. KOTOR never got installed. And I just bought the Humble Bundle 6.
Too bad for all of those games that Borderlands2 actually runs on my PC. See you all in a week or two! |

Friend really wants me to get Borderlands 2 so I will probably do that tonight. If anyone else gets that for PC and wants to group up let me know.
Still playing a lot of FTL and enjoying it immensely.

All this Borderlands talk has made me want to go back and try beating the first one again. I barely played it, but I should probably give it a try. Perhaps in two weeks after my hell week of mid terms, papers, and career fair is over.
Also, apparently my school has an arcade so my roommate and I went in there and beat Time Crisis 2. I loved how our school subsidized the cost of it by making it only cost 1 credit per play as opposed to the typical 4. I did surprisingly well too in our playthough; I only died 4 times.

Well update on Borderlands 2;
Went with Axton just because I wanted a turret again. Level 18 with just over 11hrs of play time. The very few complaints thus far; Don't care about the skin system since I'm playing single player, and also hate they don't just activate, they take up a backpack slot. Was a nuisance early on before expanding the backpack. I find cash nearly irrelevant this game, ammo isn't as much of a premium as the first game and the weapons in the vending machines have all sucked. I have found all my weapons. Hoping the accumulating cash will pay off later in the game but it isn't looking that way. Speaking of cash, the only time I've spent it is when I die... And that got scaled back WAY too far. I was sitting on like 10k and hardly cost 300 to come back. And with cash being useless any way this really takes away from the pressure of performing well. So I dunno if it's laziness or that this game is really actually more difficult than the first but I've died as much in 11hrs of this as I did in like 20hrs of the first one. I'm hoping it's just harder, but like I said, there's no urgency to not die. Also started a little slow as far as story and comedy. But both picked up fine. Still fun of course. |

Borderlands 2 is decent, I'm a little farther ahead than Nickdoh I just passed The Fridge and warped back to the floating sanctuary for the first time...there are like 50 quest markers there now. I've been playing with my roommate, and we have been doing every side quest available. I feel like if I was doing it single player it would be much less fun. Multiplayer is where it's at in this game.
I'm using Axton, my roomate is the gunzerker. I've died maybe 3-4 times total. They took away the gun proficiency bars in this one and tried to make the 3 specialization trees better. I'm enjoying my upgraded gun turret. The vending machines have offered me jack sh*t as far as good weapons, so have the drops from bosses. All the weapons I am using I scored from the slot machines at Moxie's in Sanctuary, the slots are relatively cheap and usually pay out with a decent item after 8-10 tries. I would not be surprised if they nerfed them in some way sooner or later. I think I may have found a good weapon from a gun chest somewhere, but I can't remember. Speaking of items, sniper rifles are still king at this point. The critical hit modifier for headshots with them lets me one shot most monsters. For other guns it's best to have elemental damage included, even if the damage is displayed as less than the non-elemental damage items. This is especially true for metal shield wielding enemies, which there are a lot of. I also haven't seen any Atlas made weapons yet, which is disappointing because they were always some of the best in the first game due to their random properties not having the negative effects as other brands. I think I read somewhere that Atlas will not be in this game because the original vault hunters bankrupted them after they destroyed the armory, but it would be nice to still have a few of their weapons here and there. The humor in the game is similar to the first and I've gotten a few chuckles here and there. I haven't looked ahead, but I hope this game isn't the same as the first when it comes to completing it, and then having you replay the whole thing again to max out your level. It's good, but I don't see myself playing through the whole thing again, at least not with the same character. Also, make sure you redeem your 'badass tokens' when you get them. A lot of people i've talked to had no clue what they were or that they even had them. They give you permanent skill bonuses.
