Nah.

The way certain games are designed (MMORPGs in particular) I can certainly see people getting 'addicted'.

Starcraft isn't even a game in South Korea, it's a way of life there.

I can't see myself ever getting addicted to a game. I don't play any of the MMORPG's that have caused "addiction" like WoW or Everquest. The only game that I could probably play a significant amount in one day is Sim City 4, and I couldn't pull 12 hours straight of it.

Most games these days don't even have enough content to make one become addicted to it.

Thanks for the input. what would you say your longest gaming time has been? I remember playing mario for 3 or 4 hours straight. If I play NHL or MLB or Fifa nowadays I can't play more than a game or two. I couldnt imagine playing 12-20 hours of a game straight. i think it'd be damn tough

My longest gaming session has probably been around 7-8 hours. I think it was 4 years ago during the summer where my friend and I would go online at 10pm and play Halo 3 and Modern Warfare 1 until 5am or so. However, I'd take small breaks in between some matches like going to the bathroom or getting something to eat.

Another friend and I once played Sim City 4 from around noon until 6pm, but once again, nothing as severe as some of the stuff other people have done.

I really haven't come close to doing a gaming session like those in quite some time. I can only play NHL for a long time if I'm playing online doing EASHL, and even that is only 3 hours or so. Other than that, I don't do anything too drastic (at least not anymore). Even if I am playing a fun game that I'm really into, I'll generally stop at some point because I'll either have something else to do, go to sleep, or eat.

When Fable 3 came out I played 10+ hours straight on 3 occassions. We only had 1 TV, so my girlfriend was pretty p1ssed off. We compromised (aka I shut her up) when I went out and bought her her own 46" high def TV. No way was I going to stop playing that game so she could watch re-runs of "Friends."

I'd say I was pretty hooked on games as a teenager... not really "addicted" because I always put sports, going out, girls ahead of games... but if I was home, and had no plans... I was online playing a game.

Diablo, Starcraft, Warcraft 3, Diablo 2, WoW, NHL series, SNES RPG's... I could always find something to get hooked on.

Luckily Diablo 3 turned out to be a piece of sh*t so I won't be wasting anymore time playing that.

I used to get addicted playing racing games on line against people, 6 or 7 hours go by before you know it. And if I had a bottle of bourbon or a bunch of beer in the fridge next to me, whoa boy, were talking an easy 10-12 hours. I stopped playing online for that reason.

I used to do 3-4 hours at a time at age of Empires II LAN parties, but the most ever was probably in my NES days. I was five or six, and I used to spend close to 8 hours on a Sunday trying to lick legend of Zelda. My mother thought she was being helpful by buying me a game genie so I had infinite energy. Instead, since Link never died, I had to beat the entire game in one sitting.

I didn't end up doing it, therefore, until I got to high school and got an emulator for my laptop.

I think the longest gaming session Ive had was around 10 hours or so, including quick breaks for food and watering and the like.

Once grand theft auto V comes out, Ill probably work up a marathon again. Or if RDR2 ever gets going (IF)

NHL.

Don't remember which one, but on my old Playstation I once used to play full games 60 minutes and I remember that I played 3-4 games en suite more then once.

Besides that I once played for more then 6 hours the good old "Ports of Call", don't know if somebody remembers that game. To think that it was a boring simulation it's pretty weird to play it for that long.

I don't remember ever playing a console game for an insane amount of time. I was a big sports game guy when I was younger so the newest releases of Madden/NCAA Football would result in some 3-4 hour sessions when they first came out but nothing more than that.

The good old days of Starcraft and Counterstrike were a different story. I can recall many an all-day event with friends playing those.
