Ill probably get it. I think Madden will take up the majority of my time anyway. It looks fantastic.

Until GTA V comes out, obviously...

You already have Madden? Damn. Waiting until tomorrow seems way too long.

that season ticket thing gives every EA Sports game 3 days early, the only caveat being no Ultimate Team and no "game face". it's a pretty sweet deal with everything you get, in my opinion of course, but others scoff at it.

If you got a bit of a review, that would be greatly appreciated. Your an XBox guy, no?

yes sir i am.

as far as a review goes, a lot of the things i am noticing are smaller, subtler things that maybe some people wouldn't care about, but i'll try.

the biggest thing, by far, probably the biggest thing in a Madden game in years, is the new contact engine. some of the hits look terrible and after the play there are some SKETCHY collisions, but man, when it works it is fabulous. having a wide open hole, but catching your foot on your o-lineman's foot might sound frustrating, but it's frustrating in a very real way. there have been so many little trip ups that just didn't happen before that really make the engine shine. it feels like you really have to control your running back this year, like with jukes and stuff, to hit holes instead of just flying in to your teammates' backs and hoping for the best.

it also leads to some very big hits that really feel big. when a receiver comes across the middle, you take a safety and put your shoulder in to his face and his legs tuck back behind his lifeless body, it feels like a million bucks. it's just fabulous.

i also really like the addition (and it's in NCAA too) of the receivers / defense having to look at the ball to make a play on it. you can really take advantage of corner backs not looking in a way you never could before. nothing sucked more than having a wide open receiver, then all of a sudden a corner shows up and throws up his arm... 12 times a game. a friend of mine and myself played a game last night and he tried a HB screen, threw it way too soon and i took it to the house after his HB didn't even look for it. it's a really nice addition.

i looked really quickly in to the new "connected careers" thing and it looks really, really in depth. i decided i didn't want to start it without the "game face" thing (but more on that later).

i really didn't care for some of the player builds, but i guess that's not a huge thing. Weeden looks like a line backer and Joe Haden is as white as me, but again, who cares? the actual look of the game is pretty awesome, especially in replays with the grass and a bit more definition, it just looks awesome.

i, personally, am VERY excited for the game face. i know it's small, but man, i'm so excited to put my face on "me" and coach my team. hahaha. they really emphasized media (unfortunately) but at least it'll give good opportunities to see my face in the game! being constantly, CONSTANTLY, bashed in the face with twitter and facebook sucks enough in real life, but in game, it's a bit much.

anyone who says the commentary is better (IGN did, i think) is lying. it's still god awful. really awful.

i'm trying to think of other stuff, if i do, i'll post it.

if anyone has any questions, that would probably be easier, honestly.

I think its safe to assume that the PS3 version won't be much different. I am pumped to pick up my copy. I would bet that a patch will come out fairly quickly that will fix the small stuff like player bodies and colour... that sort of thing.

How is the running game? I am finding it really easy to run in NCAA13. And I heard there is no more blind swats from the cb's. Any word on that?

How can you tell Im pumped about Madden. Finally a football game I am excited about. EA, don't let me down you ****s.

Hearing that there is no franchise mode in madden is a deal breaker for me. Thats the only thing I played in Madden games. Looks like I will be getting NHL 13 afterall.

It is, its just not called "franchise" its under Connected Coach and you gotta be a coach. Same thing, kinda sorta.

No edits or anything. I might start playing online.

As far as NHL, are they aver gonna bring an in game slash back? I loved running around hackin' guys arms off...

I wish I read this after I wasted $70 bucks on this game. I even researched the game before and I never heard about this. I am beyond pissed off. That was my favorite feature in any sports game.

And the coach or player mode is not the same thing at all. I've seen people make comparisons but it's a lot different.

The Madden franchise mode was my favorite of any sports game aswell, there was just so much to it. I was actually going to be picking it up today but decided to read some reviews, and somehow only one person brought it up. I'm glad I read it cause I woulda been pissed if I had to find that out first hand.

Kind of, but not really. Yes you can control a team and make trades/draft players, etc. But personally I liked controlling the franchise side of things. Moving teams, creating new teams, setting ticket prices, etc. All of that is gone.
