Assassins Creed 3
I've got this on preorder when it comes out.
However, I've never played 1 or 2. Any followers of the franchise looking forward to this one? Or how has the series progressed in your opinions? |
This is actually the 5th game of the franchise (Assassins Creed, Assassins Creed 2, Assassins Creed Brotherhood, Assassins Creed Revelations, and now Assassins Creed 3).
I played the first three and part of the fourth one. This is actually one of the few Xbox games that I'm really excited for. I thought the second game was instrumental in this series. There was such a huge improvement made in the second game by making it much less repetitive, a problem that plagued the first game. You should consider picking up the second one (probably no more than $20 new and probably cheap if used at Gamestop or on Amazon). It corrected everything wrong in the first one (the first game was decent, but it had its problems) and it will get you into the series. |
With that post, it shows my knowledge of the franchise. :I
I figured, I traded in Madden 13, and got an extra 10% bonus if I put it towards anything, and thought AC3 would be a good thing that could consume time for me, so why not? From the sounds of it, it's not a bad move. :D |
Just a great fall season for video games, I'm literally going broke paying for PS3 games. NHL 13, FIFA 13, AC3, COD Black Ops 2, Medal Of Honor's new one, and NASCAR Inside Line all making my account look much smaller.
AC3 is also going to be my first Assasians Creed game and I'm pretty excited the gameplay looks fantastic and the reading that IGN put up about the game makes me want to play it now! I have seen some of my friends play it and it looks intimidating but almost seems similar to Mafia 3 which I loved. JKidd I went back and watched the video packages for the games, and even if you can just find a friend to bum the games off of it will help connect the dots. The past two have been very good, but not great. I hope this one destroys all of my expectations and that will be pretty easy when I get to cut down some freaking red coats! Hiza! |

I've got about $120 banked on my Gamestop card, so I'm going to head there tonight and grab AC Revelations. Figure that'll be a $15-$20 buy that'll make my future endeavor a little easier and hopefully connect things for me.
Polishkid, I think cutting down some Red Coats is what appealed to me the most. That and killing bears. Man do I ****ing hate bears... not as much as Red Coats, but almost! |

I do not hate bears like you do but I do hate snakes. I hope there are snakes.....or bees....or stinkbugs.... |
British guy here, looking forward to the game though. Love this series. Though obviously I'm mostly looking forward to finishing the storyline so I can start hounding the colonists in free play

I've played all of them. AC 2 and revelations were the two most fun to play. I played AC 1 recently and the game is pretty useless. You can jump right to 2 like i did and pick it up.

Assassin's Creed has become my favorite franchise. Brotherhood and Revelations really didn't answer anything from the storyline from AC1 & AC2 and just made things more confusing to me. They were both fun to play, but were pretty pointless and felt like a gap filler. I also have AC3 pre-ordered and cannot wait to play it, but I hope the game answers some of the questions that the earlier games created. Jkidd, I'd also recommend starting with AC2 at least to famaliarize yourself with what the storyline is becuase it's a pretty in-depth story they have developed.

Man this game is freaking insaine. I played a decent bit last night and couldn't put down the controller. Absolutley stunning graphics, and the gameplay is pretty good.
Only had one glitch so far where a rifle was just sitting in the air after I killed a guy. By sitting I mean stuck in pergatory 6 ft above us. |
what are the major control differences, I'm thinking of picking it up this weekend.
