Unfortunate incident but there was certainly no "slamming" going on there. Looked to me like the linesmen trying to restrain Huberdeau was simply not strong enough to do so and he fell over in his efforts.

Huberdeau got suspended four games for that.

I don't know what Tasker was thinking. When the ref has a bear hug on you give up.
