New, Non-Youtube Fights
I've been going through some old tapes and am going to upload fights I don't currently see on youtube. Instead of creating new threads for each fight, I'm just going to throw them in here. Check back semi-regularily for updates.
From October 25, 2003. The late Wade Belak drops the gloves with Washington's Stephen Peat. The two had met at the end of the previous season and Peat really kicked the sh1t out of Belak badly. After his horrible showing in their previous battle, I wondered what Belak would bring in this fight. He didn't disappoint. Belak finished his check on Peat along the boards, Peat issued the challenge and down came the gloves. Peat got a few flurries going with his left, but Belak threw a steady flow of rights (including a few nice uppercuts) and scored the win.
================ From the same game, Leafs rookie Matt Stajan (he would make a bad habit of this) gets caught with his head down and is rocked by Jason Doig. Tie Domi is right there and steps in on Stajan's behalf. Looked early like Tie was going spin Doig into oblivion, but Doig regains himself and does a good job of stealing the rest of the fight in a close battle. At one point around 50 seconds he throws 3 body shots and them comes upstairs and looks to blast Domi square in the mush. Great hit by Doig, and a solid showing against Domi. He wears a visor and dropped the lid to start the fight. Domi (as he should and anyone who says different is wrong) drops his to even things out.
================ Not a fight, but here's Tom Fitzgerald rocking Sergei Gonchar from the same game.

From November 8, 2003. Brad May and Brad Brown had 2 fights in this game. The 2nd fight is on youtube, round 1 wasn't. So here it is.
Not much. Nice square off, and then both lean in with huge rights. Looks like both miss, but May checks his face while getting up which makes me think Brown's caught at least a part of him. If you're bored look up round 2 from this game. Was a f*cking beauty.

News clip from a pre-season game from 1995. Stu Grimson can't get anything going against Tie Domi so he goes with the old "schoolyard trip" and then tries a quick punch while he's in the full mount. Cheap move by The Grim Reaper.

There was so much potential here. What the hell happened? Tie Domi vs Marty McSorley from December 16, 1995.

Edmonton against Florida from October 20, 2001. Sean Brown and Ivan Novoseltsev get tangled up after a whistle and the gloves come off. Brown really takes it to the non-fighter.
=============== Later in the game the Panthers Joey Tetarenko searches out Brown for the revenge fight. What's with the announcer (Greg Millen)? In the other clip he acknowledges that Novoseltsev isn't a fighter, and then is seemingly dumbfounded as to why Teterenko is going after Brown in this fight. F*cking idiot.

Kevin Sawyer tries Big Georges Laraque on December 5, 2001. Sawyer was a lot of fun to watch that year.

From March 28, 1999. Matthew Barnaby's first game back in Buffalo after being traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins. He meets up with long time teammate Rob Ray, who decides it's time for a go. Barnaby refuses and doesn't drop his gloves. Rob Ray doesn't care and drops Barnaby. Just a news clip, but it's got everything you want.
===================== Marty McSorley against Jeff Odgers from October 24, 1998. I think this fight is on youtube, but is apart of a game highlights video without sound. I might be wrong, but either way here it is. McSorley and a young Eric Lacroix (who is almost visibly sh1tting himself) have a hold of eachother like they're giong to fight. As they seperate a big scrum breaks out between everyone else on the ice. Odgers is in the middle of it until McSorley calls him over. Odgers leaves the scrum and heads McSorley's way. Officials try to intervene, but Marty and Odgers eventually get free and get a hold of eachother. Odgers immediately gets the piston going and quickly overwhelms McSorley for the W. Fantastic start to this fight.

From January 30, 1999. A scrum breaks out in front of Curtis Joseph in a game between the Leafs and Capitals. Craig Berube and Jason Smith seperate themselves from the pack. Smith wants absolutley nothing to do with this one and tries to hold on and not do anything to piss Berube off.
The Chief wanted the fight though and threw a few punches in an attempt to get Smith going. To no avail though. Instead of just opening up and laying waste to Jason Smith, Berube took it easy on him and basically let him off the hook. HOWEVER What in the f*ck does Berube start doing at the 45 second mark? He just gets tired and decides to take a nap on Jason Smith's arm? Playing Peek-a-boo? It was like he was begging Smith to throw a punch.
================== Later in the same game it's Kris King and Enrico Ciccone shedding the mitts. I remember thinking Chico was going to take it to King. Not even close. Kris King completely fought his fight and basically had his way with the much bigger Ciccone.

Couple of Ken Baumgartner fights.
From February 19, 1994. The Oilers Dave Manson reverses the puck behind his net and makes the mistake of admiring his work. Ken Baumgartner comes in and wallpapers him into the boards. Kelly Buchberger arrives on the scene and jumps Baumgartner with right hands. Baumgartner turtles and Buchberger continues to throw. Jump job, but win Buchberger.
=============== Hawks and Leafs from January 16, 1993. Two of the best nicknames in hockey drop the gloves along the boards. The Bomber and The Grim Reaper quickly square off before grabbing on. Grimson throws a big right that misses. Baumgartner counters with one of his own that snaps Grimson's head back and drops him. Knockdown win Baumgartner.

Todd Gill and Robin Bawa from January 8th, 1993. Gill catches Bawa in the neutral zone with a great open ice hit. Bawa gets up and wants to talk things over with Gill. Pretty good slugfest with both guys throwing rights. Then Todd Gill seamlessly switches to the left and drops Bawa like a sack of sh1t.

I really hated Turner Stevenson. I really liked Paul Laus. So I was pretty happy to see the two fight and watch Paul Laus kick his ass. From March 9, 1998. Someone get FCM in here to translate that sh1t.
