Thanks for the clip. I have never seen these before.

I know these guys are warriors and it takes a big set to do what they do, BUT the theatrics and 45 secs to 1 min square-off's is a bit much to me. And what the hell is up with Dube kissin' Nasty's head? What a freak show.

I like fighting as much as the next guy, but for cryin' out loud..get after it and don't stop to wave at the crowd in the middle of the tilt. That's why guys like Probert and Kocur were the best. They beat the sh1t out of people and did none of that showmanship crap.

The "theatrics" was part of the show in LNAH through the 2000's. For all means and purpose Jacques Dube was a house. And not in a good sense. He was an overweight tank who had a myriad of fans. None of which came to a game to watch him play hockey. They wanted 2-3 fights from him each game, and that's normally what they got. Back then the fighters got more money than the actual guys who put the puck in the net.

Were the theatrics way overboard? Yep. They played it up for the fans though. Everybody had their own schpiel. Sugden with dual Six Shooters, Jason Clarke with the heavy weight champ belt, Jason Bone skating a hundred miles an hour after a fight. Ashlee Langdone telling the fans he won every single fight even when he lost. Kurtis Swanson giving the fans on opposing teams the middle finger......The list goes on and on, and that's on top of the pre-fight figure eights and circles the players did squaring off.

Darius, I hear ya. I totally get that what they were doing was for the fans, but to me its more like ice capades with fists. Cheers for these guys being able to stand in there and pummel the crap out of each other. I just think the antics are too much and takes away from the sport and the battle that is hockey. Call me old timey, I guess.

Me too. Just wasn't sure if you were square on the league back then. Nowhere near the circus today it was back then.
