Thanks alot for posting these clips. Good stuff. But I was really curious about the one with George Zajankala. Being a long time Penguins fan, I'd never even heard of the guy, and Hockeydb.com doesn't even show him as ever playing in the NHL. Like I said...weird.

He only played in the pre-season that year. Hockeydb doesn't count pre-season, so his stats won't say he played for the Penguins. Check out this link. http://dropyourgloves.com/Players/Pl...x?Player=11409

Zajankala played two seasons for the IHL Lumberjacks. Saw him in Cleveland when I was a sports writer there. He was a strong guy, but seemed to not have his heart in it all the time. When he did, he could be a bull.

Had a decent rookie season in Cleveland in 92-93, with 16 goals, 37 points, and 80 PIMs, but he wasn't going to be the team's enforcer, because Paul Laus was there trying to build his resume for the upcoming expansion, with 427 PIMs. He spent most of his time on the third and fourth line with almost no power play time, so that production was pretty good.

George was a healthy scratch through the playoffs, though. I remember seeing him in the stands during the playoffs against Fort Wayne, watching the games and looking very bored. Next season was split between Cleveland and the ECHL, and he never got back. I think he went off to Europe for 8 or 9 seasons.

And yes, he tore it up in the RHI.

Anyhow, pretty cool to see Zajankala and Patterson in these clips, even if they are getting whupped. Thanks!
