Video Clips
Only members can download attachments, so it's kind of like a member "perk" I guess.

It takes a while to make clips. Anyone who's made a bunch knows that. I'm clipping these, making sure they're the exact fight we can reference in the log (if applicable) and if there's no entry for it I write one.

Frequency of new clips will depend on a few things:
My free time. Obviously, since there's a slew of other things to do with this site, other sites I do, my actual job and/or other paying work along with me attempting to have a life.
My computer. I'm sure you all know how that goes.
Your voting. If people don't vote, I'm not changing the clips. I don't care if a fight is good or bad, just vote on it (after all, fights can't be reflected as good if there's no bad to compare it to). We only require 10 votes before having the result displayed, it shouldn't be hard. Please vote.

Voting
Voting is important. First off, once we have 10 votes, we can start making site-wide judgement calls about winners. Yes, they'll be debate about it, but that's the point. Second, there's a good amount planned with the voting system to benefit the site and your personal records. Lastly, it's a small way to say thank you for a clip.

Let's go into some things we'll be using the voting system for:

• For the fight - Instead of just displaying winner and rating, I'm going to display (probably in another page or pop-up) the percentage who voted for each (player A, player B or draw), how lopsided it is, and how many voted ko/tko for it. Personal records are never displayed.
• For the site - Win/loss records for players, for teams; a few different power ranking formulas as well. Our own little controversial BCS system
• For yourself - All of your data is still there when you vote. See who you voted for (compared to everyone else), your own personal win/loss records for players and teams and your own rankings compared to the site.

Clip Requests
I get tons, that should be obvious. In the end, I simply can't take all of them. While I like putting up clips for people, please remember it's only part of this site.

If you want a clip, please post here in this forum. Someone should be able to take care of you if they have it. Don't only trade, help others out. I'm not asking you to send me a clip before you download one from here, so don't sit there with that same clip and demand something in return. If you're receiving and you have some, offer them.

Do not request a clip from a game that's still in progress, or has been played within a day or two. Please give people the chance to actually make them.

Do not IM me about clips during the day. I'm at work and I have zero there. If you do contact me, IM or email is preferred over PM, and have the dates of the fights you need. Please try the public forum first.

If you post a request please preface the subject line with Req:

About Clips
Do not rename the ones you get from here. There are two big reasons for it. One is the fact that our naming convention is a good one:
date_awaylastname_homelastname (and then a _1 and _2 if the players fought more then once in a game)
date is: yymmdd - I know I should have used yyyymmdd, but I didn't at first and haven't changed it.
When you build up many clips, this makes it super easy to sort them by date and find them using the log or searching in your directory.

The other is knowing what you have downloaded already from here (if we put the same clip up again) or if you're trading with someone else. You now know if you have that Ray-Domi fight immediately.

Download limit implemented

We've been running into a problem with people downloading the same clip over and over and over again, wasting our bandwidth. Therefore there's a limit to how many times you can download one clip. One clip will not affect another.

Please download the clips to your own machine. There's no need to keep coming here to watch them over and over, especially since they are not posted permanently.

We have taken into account that some download them at work, then again at home, and may be disconnected and have to re-do it. However, there's no reason for people to be downloading some of these the number of times they have.

Hotlinking

Please don't post direct links to video clips unless you're the one hosting them. Instead, just post a link to the page that they're on. Hotlinking steals bandwidth from the hosting site.

Pimp linking

Please do not post links to a site just to attempt to drive people there. Either post the clip and link to it or don't. You may put links in your profile, your signature and you may post "courtesy of" links. However - you may not post "it's on here" and link to a page. While this is innocent sometimes, it's frequently just a way of trying drive traffic to one's site (and done repeatedly).

This forum is for video clip requests and posts only. All other threads will be removed.

Posting

Do not post clips from games in-progress, those go in the "You see them brawl?" recap thread.
