New forums, new structure

Some more new things around here:

Minors busting out

Minors, Juniors, College and International is now a category. Minors have become their own major forums, and some might even get some subforums soon. The threads that were in the base of the Minors forum are now in "Other Leagues".

Team forums

Instead of having one huge thread for each NHL team, we've created team forums for all. We realize some may start a little slower than others, but we think they'll pick up. Team forum thread listings will soon be added to the team pages themselves. Due to the number of forums, we made them compact on the forum home, but clicking on the category (Team Forums) or one of the conferences will give you a standard forum look and listing for them.

We're going to move all current team threads into the appropriate team forum. All team forums have the same rules the team threads did (no trolling, please).

In both of the new forums we've added the appropriate logos as indicators of whether or not there's a new message since the last time you've visited. A bold logo means there's a new post, while a faded logo means there hasn't been any new activity.

A little more restructuring

We've grouped NHL forums, and the rest are all under General now, hopefully making it clearer topics what belongs where.

Enjoy.

New Layouts

I will not get my nose stuck, there is nothing on my forehead.

Just wanted to say the site is looking great with all of these new changes!

Keep it up, big kudos.

Thanks!

Really liking the new changes to the forum. Especially the attention paid to the minor leagues, as we've been keeping this site hopping, easily, in the last 2+ years. Hopefully this will only increase the activity and exposure of those individual forums and their respective threads and discussions.

Thanks VF/forum leaders. Great job as always!

Really diggin the team threads. Much easier to navigate as I think it will get pretty busy with those being out in the open as well. Possibly have more members witht he eye candy being put out here.

Looks great!

I'm liking the new layout, but it will take some getting used to. Good work VF.

I love the new team forums. Awesome job, Vodka! It looks great, and it will be a lot easier to post team news and such since you can just create a new thread for every topic instead of piling everything into ONE thread.

And I like that you enhanced the minor league forums a bit too. Now those forums should become more active also, so that's good.

Great job, as usual. I really like the new updates that you've made. This is a great site that just keeps getting better.

Just a question, is it easier to administor hundreds/thousands of threads with a couple of posts in each, or a couple of threads with hundreds/thousands of posts in them?

I know some subjects warrant seperate threads, but if blurted out every random thought I have about the Preds into a separate thread, the Nashville forum could literally have thousands of threads in it. And I'm just one postwhoring fan. Imagine the possibilities if a team forum with alot of postwhoring fans do this.

Just a thought...

The new improvemnets are very sharp btw...

The middle ground is something more like 5 threads with 20 posts are better than 1 thread with 100 posts for most of us. Not only is it easier to moderate, but it leads to much better discussion. Posts are likely to flow, so it's easier to read and easier to respond to and follow after. Having everything within one thread eventually stifles the topics being discussed.

hola...still looking good...

so here is my thought..I think the Forum Français should be swapped with Video Clips, ie flip em around.

Let's face it, everyone looks for videos first, not piss off the french, but, small small portion.
