Q & A: Sasha Lakovic

Q & A: Sasha Lakovic

The videos page contains a number of Lakovic clips, including the Guy Lapointe incident.

Sasha's a great guy, was fun to talk to, I definitely wish him luck with whatever he does in the future.

So if you are in the business of fighting you would have to not worry about what anybody says.
I think it's great that we still have guys wanting to be fighters in hockey even today, given the type of sh!t some of them gets.
We should be thankful that there are guys out there who still feels protecting their team-mates is a noble and respectful business.

And if I can be just a little bit nosy Vodka, how do you conduct your interviews with all these amazingly cool players of the past and present ? Do you have the same procedure with all of them, do you interview them in person at their home or some arena, or on the phone ? How long do you sit down with each other in general ?
Do you get in touch with agents and stuff like that, in order to set them up ? Just interested, that's all

very nice read for a late night...great interview VF, it seems to just flow like a regular conversation...i don't remember seeing any of his fights when he was around so the clips are a real good bonus for me...hopefully a come back in one of the bigger leagues is just around the corner for him no matter what role he plays...he really seems to be one of the good guys...thanks again and keep up the good work...

Nice read, I remember that fan incidennt like yesterday
By the way, making it straight from junior B to pro hockey is very rare. Credit to him for being able to do so.

Good interview.

It's funny. I watched the Grandview Steelers play a game last night, LOL. Hard to picture him being on that team...

Lakovic goes after a fan and he's a loveable nutcase. Ron Artest does it and he's a criminal. Very interesting.

So not only does he play hockey, fight in MMA, get small parts in movies but now he's possibly planning on making an NHL comeback or Boxing for Canada in the Olympics? I think he's set his standards a little high. Getting on the Olympic Boxing team at his age is a longshot IMO.

If he's that confident in making it? maybe he should move to another Canadian city like Montreal or Toronto, there's a thousand young hungry Lions with the Olympic dream in those cities, which house more competitive boxers than Vancouver. And the kids these days? are friggin monsters.

Good read...I remember Lakovic being rather cocky back in the day, it looks as though he still posseses this trait! Either way, it's interesting to hear his insight as to how enforcers are treated and how a lot of them aren't given a playing chance...

I was surprised to read that late in his illustrious career, a coach could still whistle and order Probert to initiate a fight agains a guy like Sasha. Who was the coach then? Darryl Sutter?

I'm pretty sure Dirk Graham was coaching the Chicago Blackhawks at the time.

Or maybe the guy that McPhee dropped, Lorne Molluken?

I think Molluken was Graham's replacement about three-quarters into the season. Sasha's three-fight-night was at the very beginning of the season.
