It was nice to see him give Neil credit for that fight and not make any excuses, even though it was obvious that Neil jumped off the bench fresh and Cairns was gassed. Good read.

Thank you for the article. Great read. I will sorely miss not seeing him play at the Coliseum.

Great read. I'll have to catch Cairns in action on his next visit here to yorkshire (Sheffield Steelers).

Man, this interview really makes me miss NHL hockey. But the ticket prices continue to go up and up.

Ok, read the artical and watched the clips. Great stuff all the way around. Hadn't seen alot of his fights before, that guy is a fukin animal. The fight against Corson had me laughing pretty good, and that fight with Marshall was awsome. You can also see what a class guy he is by his fights with Doull and Downey, he could of easily pounded them both into the ice. He clearly let up on those 2. I would love to see him and Scotty P. go they seem to have similar styles. Does anyone know if these two have fought each other anywhere? Fabulous Stuff VF, Thanks again.

Never happened... Last year he was scratched at the Coliseum and 2 years ago, I think Cairns was injured for the Av's game.

Finnaly got around to reading it.

I really liked the part about him thinking the his scrap with Neil 2 seasons back was not cheap by Neil. He had good things to say and now the Neil bashers cant say it was unfair.

Thanks again very good stuff here thanks to both of you.

Chris

A question about Cairns.

I know a lot of people like Eric Cairns, and I personally don't dislike him. However, one thing he said in the recent interview he did with VF kind of puzzles me.

When asked about the Mel Angelstad fight, Cairns had this to say,
"...Then his jersey came off and there was nothing really to grab on to and then I just did a faceslam on to the ice because I couldn't grab on to anything..."
Am I the only one who sees this as him sort of admitting that he bailed on his fight with Angelstad?

Now before the Cairniacs go all apesh*t on me, I realize that the interview showed that Cairns is a decent guy who knows his role on a team. However, what are you opinions on his description of this fight? Does it change your opinion on him? He did say earlier that he doesn't turtle in his fights, but he seems to counter-act that in his response that I quoted above. Lets try to keep this civil, strictly about the topic at hand, and with the least amount of BS as possible.

Yeah, I like when fighters tell the truth about their fights.

Now that was a good interview. The Neil section was great, it shows that Cairns is a class act. Good job David!
