Great work VF! What a class guy! Has to be of of the strongest men to ever play in the NHL. Shame he couldn't stay on the blueline and become a stay-at-home type. Great fighter as well!

I don't normally respond to these articles but I have to say that was a great interview. Great questions and better answers. He seemed very honest, great to read.

thanks for the interview. I'm surprised he blew off the Isles question."I met McCabe and Bertuzzi". LOL! Brent played for the Isles during the worst times. During one game while the team was spiraling down and out of control, Brent started hysterically crying on the bench. Severyn was trying to jump on the ice to get involved in a fight, and the coaches were holding him back. Brent lost it, and all of this was caught on the broadcast. One of the strangest things I've ever seen.

Next game out Severyn went out on his first shift and dropped the gloves with Mark Tinordi. Later in the same game Tinordi ran Severyn. Brent got up, dropped his gloves, chased Tinordi down, and went nutso, receiving a game misconduct. The refs had a tough time getting him off the ice.

Great to hear from Brent! Thanks! I remember as he shook his had and said "that was ugly" as he signed me the picture where he was punching the defensless Sydor. Funny that he mentioned it in the interview.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

I just uploaded a second Sevy clip; the first of two bouts he had with Vial on 4/5/96.

Severyn is a class act that's for sure...I wanted more! He was one of my favs for sure, and I was surprised to hear that he didn't like the enforcer role at all...All you hear is praise about this guy, he was definitely of the strongest guys, and could throw them with both hands...

I was a bit surprised as well (about his discontent), but as guys leave the game, it seems quite a few feel this way. However, watching old clips of him, it would surprise many. He was very into the games, and would often try and pump up the crowd after a fight, etc. I think a lot of it comes from the fact that he knew he had more skills and it didn't seem like a team really gave him a fair shake at it.
