One of the judges wouldn't happen to have been Ron Devorski was it???

Actually Cloud reminds me of Jeff Lacy so much it isn't even funny.

He does fit the Lacy bill, almost to a T.

Paul Williams outworks Ishida over 12 rounds. One thing that was evident, he can get hit with overhand lefts and and Ishida proves he can get hit repeatedly with overhand rights too.

I really hope Paul doesn't get put into a position to fight some kid with power, because those overhand punches will kill him.

Chisora is such a punk, Vitali is just getting old, otherwise he would have stopped him. I'd say he's just about done though, time to become President of the Ukraine!

When I heard this morning there a brawl post fight? I thought for sure that Vlad got into it with Chisora, for the spitting, what a goof.

That decision in the Cloud fight made me sick. The judging in boxing keeps getting worse I can't even comprehend how someone could give that fight to Cloud. I was cheering for Cloud all the way and was really hoping he could become an exciting top notch boxer and maybe he still can. But Campillo gave him fits and gave him a wooping. Maybe it was cause he was southpaw that Cloud had so much trouble but there was no doubt Campillo deserved the decision. A nice bounce back win for Williams but I would've like to see him get a KO. Hopefully they pair him up with Alvarez sometime soon that would be a good fight.

Chisora gave Klitschko the toughest fight I've seen him have in recent memory. He pounded away nice with the right hand to the body. If he could've just put 3-4 punches together a lot more often he might have had a chance. Klitschko didn't look good at all I think he should hang up the gloves soon.

Medical report from the Klitschko camp is that Vitali tore a tendon in his left shoulder in the 2nd round. Which makes sense, because he did not jab nearly as much as he usually does. A stiff jab in Chisora's face definitely would have kept the Londoner from coming in unimpeded.

The worst part about the Cloud/Campillo fight is just how lopsided it was for Campillo from the 2nd round on. Cloud landed at below 20%, while Campillo landed well above 30%. Mix into the fact that he busted Cloud up, and I am hard pressed to think of a single, noteworthy shot that Cloud landed after the 1st round. While Campillo, you can easily recall the combos that tore Cloud apart.

I really wish that all boxers and promoters avoid Texas all together. Completely pathetic handling of boxing and everything boxing related down there.

Side note, I do love Chris Arreola's rant on Don King at the end of his interview. That made me laugh my ****ing ass off.

Last note, I wonder if Devon Alexander gets the same home decisions with Golden Boy now promoting him and not Don King? The bout with Maidana coming up should be a very good one.

"Don King is a racist." Good stuff.

Another black eye type of weekend from the wonderful world of boxing. This fuking sport keeps shooting itself in the foot. Then the other foot.

We have post presser brawls with bottles and tripods, robbery in the ring, racists outside it. A former olympian who is suppose to fight at 168 fighting in the mid 190's, Estrada 191, Woods 177.

Sad state of boxing this past weekend.

- A high note is a nice bounce back victory by Mike Dallas. The guy doesn't have power but he can fight. Reminds me a little of Tim Bradley as takes a workmen's like approach to the ring. the guy was 17-0 before he took two tough losses, being KO'd in one of them and losing a very, very tight dec. Dallas has had to fight for his wins and has not been babied along the way. Good for him, hopefully he can keep getting TV fights as he deserves it.

- A sad note, on the same card you have that fat out of shape pig Shawn Estrada. A former olympian to boot. Guy has been babied and privaledge his whole career. Fighting nothing but journeymen feeding their family. Nothing wrong with them, but a former olympian trying to make a name needs to fight someone that can test him. Not to mention he should be fighting at 168. His opoonent Woods, 177 lbs, Estada 191. Pathetic.

- A sadder note, Cloud got a gift. Chico got robbed. Cloud's going to get his fights now, because its clear he is not invisible. I think pascal wants to fight him tomm. Cloud said he would give him a remath, but implied it would be down the road. If the IBF has any control they should order an immediate rematch.

- Paul Williams gets a workmen like performance against a game opponent. Ishida will always be best known for his shocking KO of Kirklan, but its clear he is a huge notch below the elite. He is worldclass, but championship days are over. Probably the same can be said for Williams, but with this win and the gift over Lara, he will be in position to get a real meaningful fight at 154.

The Estrada fight was a farce.

How the hell can a super middleweight come in at the cruiserweight limit (or a pound or two short on the first weigh in)? What kind of discipline is that? He was rightfully ripped apart by Teddy and Joe the entire fight. And out of all of that, wasn't able to get rid of the can in front of him? That's pathetic. I really hope I never have to see Estrada on FNF again. Save the air time for guys that truly want to be fighters and are devoted to the craft.

Oh well.

Looking forward to ESPNs headliner this Friday. Juan Carlos Burgos vs. Cristobal Cruz. Burgos was almost at the top, before losing to former champ Hozumi Hasegawa. And Cruz has BEEN at the top, with major wins over Jorge Solis and Orlando Salido. A very good test for Burgos to see where he's at after the loss to Hasegawa and how far he's gone down the come back trail.

Some great fights on Saturday as well, that I'll get into more as we get closer to the weekend.

The Chisora incident has been all over the news and press today, the general consensus being both Chisora and Haye should be ashamed of themselves.

In other related news, the Klitschko camp have said they are done with organising fights against Brits. The BBBC (British Boxing Board of Control) are on about revoking Chisora's pro licence on a permanent basis, with Haye (currently unlicensed after his 'retirement') being blackballed. The German police still have an arrest warrant live for David Haye, and have said both men have committed potentially imprisonable offences. Chisora also repeatedly threatened to shoot Haye in the aftermth of the melee.

A full transcript of the incident:

Yeah, a few of the British sports writers I follow have been absurdly busy yesterday and today dealing with this, the fall out and what's in store.

Also, I'm hearing they're pretty busy about Carl Froch admitting to extending fights to cover bets for family members. He came out to clarify things, but has only made things worse in that he got into more details on how he did things as opposed to trying to denying it (as most athletes would).

An ugly weekend of boxing politics, all things considered.

God damn Brits... If they all put a little blow up there nose like Joe and Ricky they would be much better off. Those gentlemen had HOF careers unlike these 2 HW animals.

- I read a Rios interview in regards to the Gamboa fight. He basically said he is going with the same style and won't change. He is going for broke, I like that about the guy. If he is going to employ that style he needs to make sure he can properly cut off a ring unlike Margarito. If not he will be easily outboxed.

- Gamboa's camp seem real confident about the 2 division jump. They have no other choice.

HBO should be applauded for getting 4 young undefeated fighters in the ring against eachother. First Broner-Perez then Gamboa-Rios.

Its about time these Networks demand the best possible fights. No more showcase fights for the undeserving.

Couple of news and notes.

Randall Bailey vs. Mike Jones has been slated for the Pacman/Bradley undercard. It will be for the vacant IBF welterweight strap. The one Andre Berto won vs. Jan Zaveck, then let go to fight Victor Ortiz. Should be a fun fight to watch. Bailey is on his retirement tour, and will be a very good name for Jones to add to his resume.

Ortiz vs. Berto II is being bounced around in terms of dates and venues. Either June 30th in Vegas. Or June 23rd in Los Angeles. Hopefully in the next few weeks the details get hammered out.

Marcos Maidana has filed a motion with the WBA to have him retain his 140 strap after the Alexander fight. This means his visit to welter will be a 1 fight situation, and then back to light welter.

Ismayl Sillakh's team has come out and said that Jean Pascal has broke off negotiations for their WBC eliminator. I wonder if this means Sillakh gets the winner of Hopkins/Dawson or where that leaves him?

I am VERY interested to see how Ken Hershman, the new HBO sports CEO, handles Sergio Martinez. The previous regime was overly selective with Sergio, and agreed to put him out there against some very unknown guys. I wonder what Hershman does with him, in regards to HBO approved opponents?

Jorge Arce scored a KO Lorenzo Parra in 5 rounds in a non title 10 rounder last weekend. He plans on returning on the Pacman/Bradley PPV card against an opponent yet to be named. It won't be Donaire though, as Donaire is seeking a fight with Nishioka in the mean time. Whoever gets the call for Arce, you know it'll be a blood and guts battle.

Still nothing from Oxnard on Kelly Pavliks return. Many are hoping a marriage with Robert Garcia help get Kelly's life on track in a number of ways, but so far, everything is quiet on when they expect the former undisputed MW champ back in the ring.

- In regards to Maidana, I didn't take his request to be an automatic return to 140, but more in line to keep his options open. If he beats Alexander I think he will have options to fight guys from both 140 and 147 and it will come down to money. If Ortiz and Maidana both win thats a big money fight at 147. Basically a couple names come to mind if he drops to 140 and they are Marquez, Rios, and Peterson. Khan said he is coming north either way. I think it is smart that he wants to keep his options open.

- Sergio Martinez has really pissed me off lately. He became a hypocrit of sorts, with refusing to fight north of 160 and then continuously calling out much smaller guys like May and Pac. HBO is going to want Sergio to fight someone with a name and can fight back. Its not going to be Chavez next. Don't be surprised if Paul Williams enters the convo once again or HBO does enough to convince Sturm of coming over. Quillin is also fighting a big name in Wright and if he beats him in high fashion he might jump to the front of the line in HBO's eyes.

- Jones and Bailey is a solid fight. A decent one where the #1 and #2 fight for a vacant title. Nothing bad to say about that.

*July 14 could potentially be a double header in regards to Mexico vs Philippines. I read one article suggesting right away it would be Marquez vs. Gesta. Another article said that Gesta was returning in April and had a real big opportunity later in the summer, meaning "Marquez." The other fight would feature Donaire vs. Victor Terrazas. Terrezas is a solid fighter in his prime. 7 wins in a row, wins most notably against Fernando Montiel. I would consider it a somewhat stay busy/weight adjustment type fight, with the expectations of a big fight in the fall.

*Just a thought, but don't be surprised to see Kelly's name pop up real soon that he will be returning on Manny's undercard.
