Instead of rallying his team, like a captain should, he was blaming and verbally abusing everybody else. Disgraceful.

C.Ronaldo and Nani are hardly "too many star players". But yes there are always off-pitch novelas coupled with a football federation mafia and a string of bad managers (the present one has already managed to kick out Ricardo Carvalho and Bosingwa, following Queiroz's spree that included the likes of Simão Sabrosa and Tiago) that tend to tarnish the team's image.

And the one before that, and the one before, and before, and before... Even on Euro'08, where they didn't even qualify
Ronaldo does well for his club teams and was a large reason, at least I felt, why United won the CL. Even though it might not have been "his team" he still was the guy everyone looked to for offense. As far as Internationaly yeah I would say he goes missing but at the same time how much of that is his fault? It could just be the team tactics that don't suit him.

And yes Nani and Ronaldo are too many stars, in America we have two in Howard and Dempsey. But I'm sure most of the English media would label them as "average".

Don't get me wrong, no one can deny his skills and offensive output. Also, it is true that the tactics used (and players supporting him) aren't the same that he had and has in United and Real. And even when things go wrong, he manages to pull fantastic goals all by himself, like in here:

Magnífico Golo de Ronaldo - Portugal (Free Kick...

Cristiano Ronaldo - Gol Anulado Portugal Vs...

My problem is with his conduct, his non-existent leadership skills, how he doesn't play with the rest of the team and expects the rest of the team to play for him and how quickly he chooses to become part of the problem rather than part of the solution during difficult matches.

I'll still put money on them. I fell in love with them thanks to Buffon, Del Piero and Cameronaisi(sp)

Ref just ballsed up in the United game. Player down with a head injury is meant to be an immediate stoppage in play...

No in every big game including his time with Man United he went missing. The CL final the semi finals. He isnt a big game player.

If United don't blow up this team or at least add some more to it then it's going to be a long year. No FA Cup, no CL, and maybe no EPL title shot. Yikes. United really put themselves in some poor spots. If SAF wants anyone to blame it's squarely on him and his players.

Man City and Arsenal losing out is unreal too. Might just have a very interesting CL final. Now we need no Barcelona.

Man. I don't even know what I was reading. Just ignore all of those statements.

Regardless United are looking much weaker after hearing about Vidic's knee. Hopefully the young guys on the backline can step up and into solidifying a place.

As long as Barcelona lose I will be happy. I would like to see someone diffrent win it this year. That AC Milan v. Arsenal matchup should be pretty good.
