He was barely under a limit that is too low to begin. If someone blows a .08 (the legal limit) and they're actually drunk than they're a complete lightweight. The legal limit is basically two beers so he had maybe two beers in him. That's not even close to being drunk. He also had small traces of weed in his system which we're likely from smoking it a week or two earlier. And even if he had some weed before the chase you'd have to be pretty naive to think that had anything to do with him acting like a moron. I'm not excusing his behaviour but he wasn't all ****ed up like some people are letting on.

I've never seen someone who was drinking and driving (at almost 2.5 times the legal limit!) portrayed in such an honorary way its insane. Yes the cops were wrong to beat him repeatedly like that but I don't think theres a single person who lost a loved one to a drunk driver who felt bad for him

So he wasn't drunk when he did that? That's even worse. If he did that sober then he was even a bigger threat to law abiding citizens.

The fact is that your BAC drops .15% an hour. You do the math - he was drunk, and HE admitted that after the incident. In fact, the reason he ran in the first place is because he knew he was drunk and didn't want his parole violated. I guess it worked out for him because he never went back to prison....

Yes, and they went to jail and lost their careers if I'm not mistaken. Did Rodney? Did Hot Rod ever see the inside if another jail cell for committing this serious felony and more jailable offenses subsequently? He got 3.8 million dollars to smoke away and some half-assed celebrity out of the whole thing. HIS criminal behavior caused the whole thing. HIS refusal to comply resulted in the excessive force - and he comes out of it waaaaaay better off than he was before. Like I said, that beating was the best thing that ever happend to Rodney.

That just doesn't make sense. .15% of .08 would be no real drop. Do you mean 15%? I assume you do. so it'd take what 5 or so hours to be sober from .08? i dunno. unless you drop .15 BAC an hour, which cant be true either lol

Don't subtract it, add it for the 5+ hours that it took for the reading.

His BAC would have been around .18- .19 when he was driving. Thats nearly 2 1/2 times the legal limit.

What % of dirty cops pay for their crimes? Why don't you get outraged about that?

Nice red herring.

I am "outraged"? Hardly. Just pointing out that Rodney benefitted greatly and was no hero, role model, or anything of the sort.

What % of cops are "dirty"? What % of people who commit crimes actually "pay" for them? What is your point? This thread had a specific subject, and now you are reaching.

Please try and respond to or refute my actual post before going off on a tangent. Thank you.

I see your point actually. You are saying the King got off easy in a lot of ways and you may very well be right. It seems to really piss you off.

My point is, if people getting off easy pisses you off, why don't you get pissed off across the board? It seems that often people on this side pick one side or the other and that's all they see. It's either "Cops are pigs" or "Cops have a hard job they can do no wrong". Of course neither of those statements is across the board true.

Selective outrage is annoying.

Nah, it doesn't piss me off... what does mildly annoy me however is the obvious trolling of the OP, I mean, could his wording have been any more telling? The fact is that here on HF.com there are posters whom you have online arguments with and they carry grudges for years. With Some guys you think it's just an online thing and if you were ever to meet they would be pretty cool ... and others are just douchebags you know that you (and likely the rest of the world) would probably hate in person too.
