- Steve Austin posted some interesting messages on Twitter last night while watching TNA iMPACT. Here's what he wrote:

"Great promo from Ric Flair!!!! The greatest professional wrestler that ever lived!! And thats the bottom line cause SCSA said so..."

"on another note--Jay Lethal kills me with his Randy Savage inspired promos...very entertaining!"

"i love the Shark Boy gimmick...highly entertaining and a good worker too."

"Flair with the brassnucks to the balls...truly the dirtiest player in the game...still. Hogan to the ring...time to change the channel."

"to those that asked...of course im going to watch WWE next...i have many friends at TNA. and lots of memories with WWE...my home."
He should have skipped Raw.

The way i see it is, if SCSA is actually paying attention to TNA alone, thats awesome. The fact hes commenting on it in a positive way makes it even better.

This is where I hate the fact that theres NO media for wrestling. Yeah its entertainment and its FAKE. But us fans have to go online to read things like this.

Imagine if there were a sports center type of show for this. No actual wrestling but just simply clips and commentary. Actually come to think of it....was there one during the Monday Night Wars? I dont remember. BUT it sure would be cool if there was something like that today. Itd get pro wrestling back in the spotlight like it should be.

Sadly, it will never be in the spotlight again IMO. It could get popular with a new attitude era, but it might lose ratings from families. The thing with entertainment is you have to keep pushing the envelope. Ten years ago you couldn't say bitch, ass, damn or hell on television or the radio, now its mainstream.

Why wrestling caters to young children, is they believe its real. They let themselves get caught up and believe its really happening. I remember when Sgt. Slaughter was an Iraq sympathizer. I was expecting Sadaam to come out with Sgt. Slaughter and eliminate Hulk Hogan.

I like watching wrestling, but it kinda ruins it if you know its fake and scripted. All the dirt sheets and internet really make it very predictable. The best wrestling company would be WWE writers and TNA wrestling. WWE has some funny skits, but boring wrestling. TNA has skits I saw in 1999-2000 in WCW but has fantastic wrestling.

Until WWE pushes the envelop again, wrestling will get less and less popular. I hope once Linda loses the senate race, the WWE will go back to TV14 and listen to the fans.

Does anybody think wrestling that would be rated TVMA be popular?

Couple notes from Hogan on Howard Stern today

Quote:
- Hogan saw Steve Austin in a Gold's Gym "a while back" and they spoke for 10-15 minutes. Hulk said he would wrestle Austin if he came to TNA.

- Hogan said the TNA Knockouts are consistently the highest rated segments of the show. But bringing in more women would depend on budget. He mentioned Torrie Wilson by name as an "original Diva" he could see coming back

- Hogan said he wrestled Strong Kobayashi, a gay wrestler, in Japan, and Kobayashi grabbed his nutsack during a match.

- A Stern staffer came in and asked about a rumor that years ago, Lanny Poffo was so limber that he could contort himself and suck his own penis, and that people in the locker rooms would pay to see him do it. Hogan confirmed the rumor but said he was never present when it happened.
Poffo really was a genius.

No surprise on Bubba, but it's too bad that Atlas couldn't stay on as a backstage announcer or manager for someone. He'd reportedly fallen on hard times since his wrestling days ended until Vince had hired him to work with Mark Henry a couple of years ago.

apparently Vince is in a youth kick right now, he wants to show off the kids as much as he can, so the old guys that are already doing very little will likely have to accept severely reduced roles (which Atlas already had which means he had not much left to do) or just get straight up released. People like Finlay, Regal and the likes just aren't getting tv time anymore so that could be a cause.

I'm very surprised at Mickie James being released...shes one of the few divas that can wrestle...

I read its cause she was getting too fat and also because she wanted to sing not just wrestle so they released her for doing things outside the company... I think shes hot as **** with some meat on her...
the word i read on why Mickie got the boot is because she was unhappy since being transferred over to Smackdown! and had been acting a little bit like a diva showing late for the bus to locations and the such. The final straw was during the European road trip apparently.

The Connecticut Post reports that WWE fan Zavr Peygumbari, of Brooklyn, New York, was arrested last week after he called WWE headquarters over twenty times with threats to blow up the company's office and harm staff members. Zavr was upset that WWE released former Women's Champion Mickie James.

Boy, someone didn't take Mickie's release very well.
