Whiplash injury experience

I was involved in a car crash last evening, some dude got heart attack behind the wheel and crashed my car from behind in a good speed. I felt like a Montreal player after game with Boston seconds after the crash happened.

I was at the hospital, they made all the check ups which were with OK results. They gave me this neck protector or whatever you call it. I have strong pain in muscles around neck and it feels not exactly fine.

Any experiences with this ****

Drink a big bottle of vodka then take some painkillers will solve all your problems

Don't do this V-12, it's what Boogaard did, and depending on how strong the painkillers are, there's actually not much room for error, and it varies widely person to person. Pick one or the other and make sure you're sober before using the other. Also, I'm not sure how the legal and/or car insurance system in the Czech Republic works but you might be able to get some monetary compensation for pills and if it's really bad, therapy, since the poor fellow had a heart attack and it wasn't your fault. Also, how is he?

I dont drink shots
Didnt know how bad it feels when you are hit by a car, it was my first accident. Problem was that since the guy was not with his sences, he hit me in full speed, no brakes. Could be easily 40 mph at least
Cops saw the accident and came in their car immediately, they helped the guy and called ambulance.

I was in my company´s car, it was 2 months old. But **** property, only important thing is that I am alive, I only have to fight the whiplash

When I think of whiplash I associate it with a concussion but it sounds like you avoided that. Car crashes are scary, I was the passenger of a car when I got t-boned crossing an intersection like 4 years ago. I wasn't injured but it was a reminder some people just can't drive, gotta be careful. Good to see you are OK now.

Thank you. That T-bone accident experience must have been also scary

Cha-CHING! I don't know how insurance works over there, or if its even required... But if that happened in the US you would have lawyers climbing all over you. An accident witnessed by the police that was 100% the other guys fault? That's called hitting the lottery over here. Don't be too quick to say you only have whiplash. You may have serious back problems. Heck, since you were in a company car- you may never actually be able to work again*nudge nudge*, or at least wont be able to sit for long periods. Your life as you know it may never be the same! Call a lawyer and PM me for my address where you can send my consulting fee.

Emotional damages can be a bitch too. He could have some serious psychological trauma from the accident. He may never feel comfortable behind the wheel again!

I see your point people but the situation over here is a bit different. I know these public trials only from the US movies.
I mean yes my car will be completely fixed from the guy´s insurance, I dont have to pay a single cent.
As for my health problems I will most likely get some money from my own health insurance which I pay monthly. I am already solving it.
But to be honest we have trials over here only in very serious cases. Only if someone gets killed or very seriously injured in a car crash. A good lawyer would cost me two or three average monthly wages in Czech republic and the result would be I am getting either **** or very little ammount of money. The problem in my case is also that the guy was not drunk, he did not cause it on purpose or anything, it happened because of hearth attack and it was written down to the police papers and everything.
Situation over here is if you got ´´only´´ a whiplash, it is not worth to go to court. Court costs are high here with very unclear results. It may sound crazy to you because you are used to that in your country its solved better but thats the way it is over here
I still will think about the court though

As for RC remarks, yes its truth I was in a good shock right after the accident and I felt very uncomfy whole evening. And when I was driving today I was only expecting another crash from behind

To add to this, dont sign anything or accept any money. If it's anything like here their insurance company may try to settle quickly with a nice little chunk of change.

About 15 yrs ago I got hit at a traffic light, the other car couldnt have been doing 5-7 mph and didnt really bother me at all, didnt even scratch the paint on my bumper. We exchanged information and went on our way, I felt fine. The next morning I could barely move my neck, I was miserable. When I went to the dr he told me that was pretty typical for the pain to start a day or so later. That afternoon her insurance company showed up at my office trying to settle for $500, had the check in hand with a document relieving them of any further finantial obligation when I signed it.

Just be careful.

What was your treatment back then? As for getting hit by car from behind it just sucks because you can do ****. You are an experienced driver who avoids jerks in traffic but when they hit you by car from behind you cannot protect yourself anyhow. Even if you have a big car, the hit still moves your neck badly
